Walking on the Teversal Trail

in GEMS3 years ago (edited)

We went on a circular walk on the Teversal Trail which is on disused railway lines between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. It was quite crisp this morning with a bit of frost on the ground.

Someone had decorated this tree. I love it when walkers do this. It warms the cockles of my heart when someone does nice things.

We walked past an old coal mine called Pleasley Pit. A lot of the coal mines have been demolished around here, but thankfully, this has been turned into a museum to preserve it's history. It used to be a coal mining area so I'm really pleased they've saved it. The surrounding area is now also a nature reserve.

Monochrome was more fitting as it was quite ethereal watching these two swans swimming in the cold mist.

I think the snails near the trees were children's rides, although there was a lack of children today.

We spotted some cauliflower fungi. I very rarely see this. It looked like some kind of sea sponge from a distance.

The trail is a bit confusing at times! Even though it was cold it was still an enjoyable walk and very Christmassy.

It's really lovely going on a cold walk at the early hours of the morning. I love all the images especially that of the swan. They look like two lovers on a romantic journey. Hehe! Cool images.

Yes, you're right about the swans. I love this time of year.

It's always the best with positive feeling and romance here and there.

I don't want to highlight a special photo, they are all great! !PIZZA

Thank you so much!
