Hola, Hive.
Hace unos días volví a ver la película The Joker y aunque les confieso que no soy muy amante del Universo DC Comics (Lo mío es Marvel en realidad), los villanos de esta franquicia tienen mucho más potencial que los súper héroes y por eso quise hacer este breve comentario del film, deteniéndome brevemente en un par de detalles de tipo psicológico.
Me gustó mucho el tratamiento psicológico que se hizo del personaje, ya que no se trata de justificar una conducta antisocial, pero sí de explicar el porqué de la misma. Además de la condición psiquiátrica de base que tiene Arthur Fleck, hay una cantidad de traumas, no solo de la infancia, sino de adolescencia y algunos que se fueron acumulando incluso durante la adultez. Todo esto se convierte en un caldo de cultivo para el nacimiento del monstruo que conocimos en la saga de Batman.

A few days ago I saw the movie The Joker again and although I confess that I am not a lover of the DC Comincs Universe (my thing is actually Marvel), the villains of this franchise have much more potential than the superheroes and that's why I wanted to make this brief commentary on the film, stopping briefly in a couple of psychological details.
I really liked the psychological treatment given to the character, since it is not a question of justifying antisocial behavior, but of explaining why it is so. In addition to the basic psychiatric condition that Arthur Fleck has, there are a number of traumas, not only from childhood, but also from adolescence and some that accumulated even during adulthood. All this becomes a breeding ground for the birth of the monster we knew in the saga of Batman.

Toda una acumulación de situaciones y condiciones de base que al final hacen casi inevitable la explosión y convierten a este film en un llamado de atención a nuestra sociedad que suele dejar de lado las señales de cualquier trastorno de índole psicológico sin saber que no hay nada más peligroso que eso. Los males a tiempo tienen remedio y podríamos tener una sociedad más sana si atendemos y cuidamos la salud mental de los ciudadanos.
Por otro lado, a menos que sea una película de Tarantino, en la que la sangre y la violencia extrema (a veces sin sentido) es el “leit motiv”, no justifico una película en ocasiones lenta y en la que de pronto nos conseguimos con dos escenas extremadamente violentas que surgen como dos cuchillos ensangrentados en una enorme sábana gris.
A whole accumulation of situations and basic conditions that in the end make the explosion almost inevitable and turn this film into a call of attention to our society that usually leaves aside the signs of any psychological disorder without knowing that there is nothing more dangerous than that. The evils in time have a remedy and we could have a healthier society if we attend and take care of the mental health of our citizens.
On the other hand, unless it is a Tarantino film, in which blood and extreme violence (sometimes senseless) is the "leit motiv", I do not justify a film that is sometimes slow and in which we suddenly get two extremely violent scenes in which two bloody knives emerge in a huge gray sheet.
Como comentario curioso, Bruce Wayne no se volvió amargado después de la muerte de sus padres, lo de él también era condición previa ya que al conocer al viejo Thomas nos podemos dar cuenta del abandono paterno que sufrió el pequeño heredero de la fortuna y eso definitivamente puede ser el génesis de su carácter uraño, potenciado por supuesto por el terrible incidente en el “callejón del crimen”.

Para cerrar con un par de comentarios positivos, yo siempre he pensado que todo film debe tener al menos una escena humorística que ayude a liberar presión. La del ex compañero de trabajo de Arthur en el apartamento de este me pareció ideal y por último, el maquillaje de Arthur cuando al fin se presenta como The Joker es sencillamente genial.
As a curious commentary, Bruce Wayne did not become bitter after the death of his parents, his was also a precondition since by knowing the old Thomas we can realize the paternal abandonment suffered by the little heir of the fortune and that can definitely be the genesis of his sull character, enhanced of course by the terrible incident in the "crime alley".

To close with a couple of positive comments, I have always thought that every film should have at least one humorous scene that helps to release pressure. The one of the former co-worker of Arthur in his apartment seemed ideal to me and finally, the make-up of Arthur when he finally presents himself as The Joker is simply great.

Comparto tu opinión de que el Joker es un personaje complejo. Es realmente interesante este filme, expone los "tras cámara" de las enfermedades mentales e invita a reflexionar respecto a la salud mental. ¡Saludos!
Totalmente. Es una película psicológica disfrazada de historia de Súper héroes y súper villanos. En realidad así nacen los delincuentes y la sociedad tiene que tomar cartas al respecto. No se resuelve el problema castigando al criminal, sino evitando que llegue hasta allí. Así tendremos una sociedad sana
