Very well today's project is the repair of a crash in the rear door on the right side of an aveo
The impact was caused by a motorcycle at the intersection of a traffic light and as we can see in the image it was a strong blow
Buenos dias a todos, saludos a la comunidad de hive y la comunidad de gems y a ti que te encuentras aca. Bienvenido a un nuevo post, si no me conoces me llamo Alejandro Cordero y habitualmente creo contenido referente a distintos proyecto que el realizado en mi lugar de trabajo
Muy bien el proyecto de hoy es la reparación de un choque en la puerta trasera del lado derecho de un aveo
El impacto fue causado por una motocicleta en la intersección de un semáforo, y como podemos ver en la imagen fue un fuerte golpe
Very well, the objective of the project is to leave the car like new. Because that is what the customer demands
For this reason, this time it was necessary to buy a new door. But that does not mean that it is easier this way because it is a lot of work to disassemble all the components of the old door and then assemble them in the new one
What we do now is assemble the new empty door and square it with the car body so that all its lines coincide. And once this is done, we can focus on straightening in the impact area
Muy bien, el objetivo del proyecto es dejar el auto como nuevo. Porque eso es lo que exige el cliente
Por esta razón, esta vez fue necesario comprar una nueva puerta. Pero eso no significa que sea más fácil de esta manera porque es mucho trabajo desmontar todos los componentes de la puerta vieja y luego ensamblarlos en la nueva
Lo que hacemos ahora es ensamblar la nueva puerta vacía y cuadrarla con la carrocería del automóvil para que todas sus líneas coincidan. Y una vez hecho esto, podemos centrarnos en enderezar el área de impacto
In this case, it was necessary to cut the affected part to straighten it separately. The reason is because that piece has an internal part and an external part, as the blow was so strong, double both parts.
That is why it is necessary to cut the external part to have access to the internal part and to be able to repair it as well
Well once both parts are straightened, the external part that we cut is welded to the body and we correct the defects that are present with the help of a product called putty
Para este caso fue necesario cortar la parte afectada para endezarla por separado. La razon es porque esa pieza tiene una parte interna y una parte externa, como el golpe fue tan fuerte doble ambas partes.
Por eso es necesario cortar la parte externa para tener acceso a la parte interna y poder reparla tambien
Pues bien una vez enderezada ambas parte, se suelda a la carrocería la parte externa que cortamos y corregimos los defectos que esten presentes con la ayuda de un producto llamado masilla
Once it dries, this product is hardened and with the help of various sandpaper we give it the appropriate shape. To seal the putty from moisture we apply another product on top of it called a base. Which once dry is sanded with several sandpaper to make it smooth to apply the paint on top of it
Now with respect to the door it is a new piece we only apply a very thin layer of background on top of it, we sand it with a very fine sandpaper and it is ready to apply the paint on both sides
Este producto una vez que se seca se enduerece y con ayuda de varios papeles lijas le damos la forma adecuada. Para sellar la masilla de la humedad aplicamos otro producto encima de ella llamado fondo. El cual una vez seco se lija con varios papeles lija para que quede liso para aplicar la pintura encima de el
Ahora respecto a la puerta es una pieza nueva solo aplicamos una capa muy delgada de fondo encima de ella, la lijamos con un papel de lija muy fino y ya esta lista para aplicarle la pintura por ambos lados
At this point we already painted the two doors, the impact area and a little the rear bumper to correct some details that had

En este punto ya pintamos las dos puertas, el área de impacto y un poco el parachoques trasero para corregir unos detalles que tenia
Así es como se ve el área que se hundió debido al impacto que había recibido
After the car is painted we wait a period of 24 hours for it to dry. And now is the time to mount and square the door on the car body
To then assemble all the components of the door, verifying that each one works correctly
Once everything is assembled it is time to sand with a very fine sandpaper all the pieces that we paint
Luego de que se pinta el automóvil esperamos un periodo 24 horas para que se seque. Y ahora es el momento de montar y cuadrar la puerta en la carrocería del automóvil
Para luego armar todos los componentes de la puerta, verificando que cada una funciona correctamente
Una vez que este todo armado es momento de lijar con un papel lija muy fino todas las piezas que pintamos
It is time to polish to give a very smooth finish to the new paint
This is what the painted door looks like once sanded for polishing
Es la hora de pulir para darle un acabo muy liso a la pintura nueva
Así es como luce la puerta pintada una vez lijada para pulir
It is time to start with the polishing process. For which I use the help of a polishing machine and polishing compound
Llego la hora de inciar con el proceso de pulida. Para el cual empleo la ayuda de una maquina de pulir y masa de pulir
As you can see as we go with the polishing, the car starts to get shiny and looks better than ever
Como se puede apreciar a medida que vamos avanzando con la pulida, el automóvil comienza a agarrar brillo y se ve mejor que nunca
Now you just have to keep polishing all the pieces that we sand to polish them until you get a result like this
Ahora solo hay que seguir puliendo todas las piezas que lijamos para sacarles brillo hasta obtener un resultado como este
Now that we have finished polishing the car it is necessary to wash it and dry it with a new towel that does not scratch it
And this is the end result of the project. Goal accomplished
Ahora que hemos terminado de pulir el automóvil, es necesario lavarlo y secarlo con una toalla nueva que no lo raye
Y este es el resultado final del proyecto. Objetivo cumplido
Get to this point. personally it is without a doubt one more achievement, because at the end of the day I can say "this job represents me" and that is something that for me is worth a lot
