An English speaking country with a long history of arts and sciences literature is one of our exports.

Blooms Day

James Joyce is one of our most famous authors, having penned the masterpiece Ulysses.
Each year in Dublin to mark this event in early February Blooms Day is held where people dress up in period costumes and visit some of the landmarks from the book.

If your in Dublin keep a look out

I have yet to read this book, maybe I'll get an e-version to mark the 100th anniversary.

Have you read it? What did you think?

I started reading this one around ten years ago, but didn't stick with it at the time. Lots of characters and dialogue and feck all happening for the start that I read. I tend to have about 3 or 4 books on the go at the same time. I must see can I find it and have another crack at it. There's obviously something to it if it's so world renowned.

I was reading an article about the book at the weekend. It's supposed to be a challenging read. I wonder if I should attempt it, but I'm not really one for heavy literature. Lately I'm reading some graphic novels, but some of those are quite deep.

I haven't read it yet, i don't remember why, probably because it's hard going but for the year that's in it i might give it a try.
