La aventura continuaba y cada día era mejor para nosotros, muchas personas nos escribían por las fotos de este lugar que si este barrio era Petare y realmente tienen que venir y darse cuenta de que no, cuando me refiero a Petare se trata de uno de los barrios más peligrosos de Venezuela, donde hay mucha inseguridad. Pero la comuna 13 es otro nivel, es espectacular, nos encantó y es que tengo que contarles como fue toda la travesía desde que salimos del lugar donde nos estábamos hospedando hasta la parada de San Javier donde tomaríamos un taxi.
The adventure continued and every day it was better for us, many people wrote to us for the photos of this place that if this neighborhood was Petare and they really have to come and realize that no, when I refer to Petare it is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Venezuela, where there is a lot of insecurity. But commune 13 is another level, it is spectacular, we loved it and I have to tell you how the whole journey was from the moment we left the place where we were staying to the San Javier stop where we would take a taxi.

Nos levantamos temprano como cada mañana porque dijimos que vinimos a Medellín a pasear y no a dormir, tomamos el respectivo desayuno, sandwich con café con leche porque debíamos improvisar con algo rápido para que nos rinda el día más de lo que esperábamos, entonces las chicas Kerit, Evelyn y yo tomamos nuestro desayuno mientras esperábamos a nuestro amigo Wilkins quien se estaba hospedando en otro sitio, sin embargo lo bueno de todo es que era cerca y llegaba siempre puntual para comenzar nuestra aventura. Allí estábamos listos para salir a tomar el metro de la estación Aguacatala hacia la estación San Antonio y luego hicimos transferencia a San Javier donde tomaríamos un taxi directo a la comuna 13.
We got up early like every morning because we said that we came to Medellín to walk and not to sleep, we had the respective breakfast, sandwich with coffee with milk because we had to improvise with something quick so that the day would last us more than we expected, then the girls Kerit, Evelyn and I had our breakfast while we waited for our friend Wilkins who was staying somewhere else, however the good thing about it was that it was close and always on time to start our adventure. There we were ready to go out to take the metro from Aguacatala station to San Antonio station and then we made a transfer to San Javier where we would take a taxi directly to commune 13.
Llegamos al sitio y aquí esperábamos a nuestro amigo Antonie el canadiense, decidimos esperarlo en toda la entrada de la comuna para que no nos perdiéramos y nos encontráramos fácilmente, lo bueno es que el no tardó mucho pero mientras tanto aprovechamos para hacernos un par de fotos mientras el llegaba. Este sitio es muy colorido y cuando llegas a la entrada están vendiendo cuadros, gorros, franelas con frases muy usadas en Colombia , incluso venden comida, definitivamente es todo un mercado, aquí te topas con gente que ha pagado un tour para conocer, pero nosotros nos sentíamos preparados en este momento para recorrerlo juntos sin tener que pagar nada. La gente es muy amable aquí, puedes estarte haciendo una foto y se atraviesa alguien diciendo "Tómala para yo salir" realmente es muy gracioso este tipo de cosas.
We arrived at the site and here we waited for our friend Antonie the Canadian, we decided to wait for him at the entrance of the commune so that we would not get lost and find each other easily, the good thing is that he did not take long but in the meantime we took the opportunity to take a couple of photos while he arrived. This place is very colorful and when you get to the entrance they are selling paintings, hats, flannels with phrases very used in Colombia, they even sell food, it is definitely a whole market, here you run into people who have paid a tour to meet, but we we felt prepared at this moment to go through it together without having to pay anything. People are very nice here, you can be taking a picture of yourself and someone comes across saying "Take it so I can go out", this kind of thing is really very funny.
Luego las escaleras coloridas, murales coloridos, cuanta creación hermosa y lo mejor de todo es que no te cobran por hacerte fotos aquí, solo necesitas una buena cámara y un fotógrafo disponible, nosotros en nuestro caso nos apoyábamos mutuamente. Hacia calor aquí, en cada esquina estaban personas vendiendo cosas, hasta recuerdos y llaveros para llevarle a tu familia por tu paseo, nosotros seguíamos caminando y subiendo hasta el final, habían muchas escaleras eléctricas para subir y esto fue fenomenal, jamás pensé que podría haber estas escaleras en un sitio así, aya que es genial.
Then the colorful stairs, colorful murals, how much beautiful creation and the best of all is that they do not charge you to take photos here, you only need a good camera and an available photographer, in our case we supported each other. It was hot here, on every corner there were people selling things, even souvenirs and key rings to take your family for your walk, we kept walking and going up to the end, there were many escalators to go up and this was phenomenal, I never thought there could be these stairs in a place like that, that's cool.
Les cuento que hay chicos bailando, cantando, rapeando, es una forma de ganarse la vida aquí, nosotras como buenas venezolanas divertidas y aprovechando que nadie nos conoce aquí, nos unimos a los que bailaban y nos grabamos un vídeo, estos niños bailan genial, se mueven muy bien y creo que tenemos mucho por aprender, tu puedes colaborarles con lo que desees. La comuna 13 es un sitio muy visitado cuando estas en Medellín conociendo, así que no puedes dejar de venir aquí si visitas Medellin en Colombia algún día. Te recomiendo que en grupo es mucho mejor, la pasas increíble con tus amigos.
I tell them that there are boys dancing, singing, rapping, it is a way of making a living here, we like good fun Venezuelans and taking advantage of the fact that nobody knows us here, we joined those who danced and we recorded a video, these children dance great, They move very well and I think we have a lot to learn, you can help them with whatever you want. Commune 13 is a very visited place when you are in Medellín knowing, so you cannot stop coming here if you visit Medellin in Colombia one day. I recommend that in a group it is much better, you have an incredible time with your friends.
Incluso tampoco me esperaba personas pintando en pleno rayo del sol , hacen cuadros aquí mismo para ofrecerles a las personas, hay demasiada arte aquí, te enamoras de las paredes, de lo colorido que es, nosotros decidimos subir hasta el final para poder ver las vista desde arriba porque nos recomendaron mucho que lo hiciéramos. Y obviamente debíamos subir para poder hacernos la respectiva foto en las letras donde dice COMUNA 13, en esta parte hay un chico y una chica que tienen experiencia ayudando a la gente a hacerse la foto y que salga toda la palabra, ellos nos ayudaron y tienen como una caja donde agregas tu colaboración. Las chicas y yo deseábamos tanto la foto aquí y por esa razón subimos hasta encontrar el sitio.
I did not even expect people painting in full sunlight, they make pictures right here to offer people, there is too much art here, you fall in love with the walls, how colorful it is, we decided to go up to the end to see the views from above because we were highly recommended to do it. And obviously we had to go up to be able to take the respective photo in the letters where it says COMUNA 13, in this part there is a boy and a girl who have experience helping people to take the photo and let the whole word come out, they helped us and they have like a box where you add your collaboration. The girls and I wanted the photo here so much and for that reason we went up to find the site.
Aquí en la comuna venden almuerzos muy típicos de Colombia pero nos provocaba algo distinto, por eso decidimos bajar e ir a otro sitio, ya moríamos de hambre, entonces subimos al metro cable porque también queríamos vivir esta experiencia, ya que en Venezuela aunque vivimos cerca de Mérida se nos ha hecho difícil viajar aquí. En Colombia si pudimos hacerlo, teníamos nervios pues jamás habíamos vivido algo así, fue increíble, pueden montarse hasta 10 personas por cabina, nosotros eramos 5 así que no hubo problema para estar juntos. Dimos un gran paseo en metrocable y posteriormente nos bajamos en una estación para comer.
Here in the commune they sell very typical Colombian lunches but it caused us something different, so we decided to go down and go to another place, we were already dying of hunger, so we got on the cable metro because we also wanted to live this experience, since in Venezuela although we live nearby From Mérida it has been difficult for us to travel here. In Colombia if we could do it, we were nervous because we had never experienced something like this, it was incredible, up to 10 people can ride per cabin, we were 5 so there was no problem to be together. We took a great ride on the metrocable and later got off at a station to eat.
Nos provocaba comida china y lo más cercano que conseguimos fue un arroz mixto con diferentes ingredientes y diferentes carnes, compramos un plato de 8400 pesos colombianos donde venia con una pieza de pollo frito y arepa frita. Entre todos nosotros compramos un refresco para acompañar, estaba delicioso. En Colombia puedes conseguir almuerzos muy baratos y muy ricos, nosotros estábamos encantados con el sitio aunque no parecía gran cosa, pero siempre buscábamos economía para ahorrar lo más que pudiéramos nuestro presupuesto.
We provoked Chinese food and the closest we got was a mixed rice with different ingredients and different meats, we bought a plate of 8,400 Colombian pesos where it came with a piece of fried chicken and fried arepa. Between all of us we bought a soda to accompany it, it was delicious. In Colombia you can get very cheap and very delicious lunches, we were delighted with the place although it did not seem like a big deal, but we were always looking for economy to save as much as we could on our budget.
Para terminar nuestro tour al salir de comer, fuimos a los Laureles ya que a nuestro amigo Canadiense le hablaron de este lugar y quería que fuéramos con el, realmente si es increíble, bastante decoración, la naturaleza es increíble, había teléfono de cabina y decidimos hacernos fotos aquí, sombrillas coloridas como en Guatapé. En este sitio, nos comimos unos helados para luego si regresar a casa a descansar ya que se nos había pasado todo el día. Insistimos en hacernos una foto como the Beatles pasando por la calle, intentando que no pasara ningún carro a interrumpir nuestra foto.
To finish our tour when we were eating out, we went to Los Laureles because they told our Canadian friend about this place and he wanted us to go with him, it really is incredible, quite a lot of decoration, nature is incredible, there was a phone booth and we decided take pictures here, colorful umbrellas like in Guatapé. In this place, we ate some ice creams and then if we returned home to rest since we had spent the whole day. We insisted on taking a picture of ourselves as the Beatles passing through the street, trying not to stop any cars from interrupting our photo.
