RE: Seriously Guys, Pool is Hard

in GEMSlast year

I'm glad to see you're doing well with the pool. I did fear you'd slipped back into the gaming. Anyway, there's that great period of sucking that comes with anything new, and we have to laugh through being terribad and eventually, competence emerges. I noticed that as I improve at something, I begin to notice the genius in others more, and that makes me feel like I haven't improved - so I take a record of some kind. For my drones, it's the occasional video clip. I guess if I took up bowling, it'd be recording scores sometimes.
Do stick with it, for all the great reasons you said and because of what it represents in managing the BPD.

Pool can be frustrating. And you are right, when I notice other pool players, I feel even more frustrated that I want to accelerate the learning process. But I know there's no shorcut. I think bringing a small notebook or pool journal can help me track my progress. Like record how many balls I pot (straight shots, angle shots, etc) in a day or something.

Whatever works. Just don't get too caught up on day to day results, focus on process - time spent, shots taken, etc - and measure results less frequently.
