The planet Venus is the second planet from the Sun and it is the brightest natural object in the night sky. It is the sixth-largest planet in the Solar System and is the closest planet to Earth. It is often referred to as Earth's twin due to its similar size and mass.

Venus is a rocky planet, much like Earth, and is covered with a thick atmosphere made up of mostly carbon dioxide with clouds of sulfuric acid. The atmospheric pressure on the surface is 90 times greater than on Earth, making it the most inhospitable planet in the Solar System. Its thick atmosphere creates a greenhouse effect, trapping heat and raising the temperature to an average of 864°F (462°C). This is the hottest temperature of any planet in the Solar System.

Venus does not have any moons and does not have any rings like Saturn and Jupiter. This is because it is too close to the Sun and the gravitational forces of the Sun would disrupt any moon or rings that formed in the past.
Venus has a slow rotation of 243 days, which is the longest rotation of any planet in the Solar System. One day on Venus is longer than one year on Venus. This means that a day on Venus is longer than all the other planets in the Solar System, except for Mercury.

The surface of Venus is primarily covered with basalt, a type of dark and fine-grained igneous rock composed of plagioclase and pyroxene minerals. It is thought that the basalt was formed by a variety of volcanic processes, including lava flows, ash deposits, and explosive eruptions. Additionally, the surface of Venus is covered with impact craters, similar to those found on other planets in the Solar System.
