After a nice night we went out for breakfast at Connie's cafe in the morning yesterday. Off an on during the day there was bits of sunshine peaking through the clouds. Once we got back to the room after eating the boys got dressed in their snow clothes and we took them over the the playground so they could run some energy off.
They had fun on the playground and then R had to go to the water as he had been wanting a beach and we were able to find a tiny bit of sandy beach below the snow.
The water in the lake is pretty low for winter so these logs are right next to the shore when they normally mark the swimming only area when the lake is full.
There is something about rocks and water that are magnets for kids, and adults too. Both boys spent a while hucking sand and rocks into the lake.
After they had enough cold hands we walked over to the mini stature of liberty that is on liberty point. It sits on the end of a think wall that sticks out into the lake, when the water level is high enough. Now the wall is fully out of the water.
The boys couldn't seem to stop kicking the snow that had hardened after the plowing of the trail. He kept kicking them and they kept spraying snow in his face. At some point I figured he would stop on his own but he just kept laughing and spraying snow in his face.
In the afternoon we took the boys to a kids area on the Cedar street bridge. The puzzle shop got a good bit of our money as they have a bunch of wooden puzzles that are super cool. The boys got to do some arts and crafts and play on the treehouse and in the play area. You can't see R but he was trying to cross the hanging bridge.
We went to dinner at MickDuff's then once we got back to the room spent a bunch more time in the pool and hot tub. So nice to just hang out sometimes.
Today after we eat we will be going bowling for a bit then head the hour home. The roads are better now than they were on Friday so it should be a mellow drive. I want to be home in time for the SpaceX launch at 4pm.
