Alright, alright! While in the past week I presented some more contemporary moments from FITS 2022 which was a bit chiller chapter despite the other articles written from the festival, it's time to get back on the dancing and musical moments that seemed like the most interesting ones for everyone.
Don't get me wrong - I do love exhibitions, theatre, circus, and all kinds of shows presented in the streets, but no doubt the biggest crowd will always gather where music is loud and dance is not missing, so let's keep that in mind for today's edition of FITS 2022.
22. A legendary brass band
It's not a random thing that the first important show of the day was part of a local Romanian brand which from what I heard is quite famous in some parts of the country and it was the best way to gather the audience before some bigger shows were going to conquer new hearts.
However, the band was called Fanfara de la Cozmești, and it was mainly composed of Gypsy singers which was a good reminder that gypsies are mainly talented and hardworking people and there are just a few who stand out in a negative way but which is enough to make the others have a bad impression whenever they meet a gypsy guy.
Anyway, I won't debate this subject any further as I know there are two camps and I don't intend to create a thread with racial connotations through my article, but I just want to say that even if I'm not a fan of gypsy music, their band did a great job and the songs felt like well-spent time for us.
Additionally, even if not still part of the band or any of the other shows of FITS 2022, there was this talented man with his own little band accompanying the tourists on a tiny alley close to the center of the town. It was amazing to discover art in all its forms, once again!
Show length: 45 min
Premiere date: 30.06.2022
Original name: O FANFARĂ DE LEGENDĂ
23. The white swans
As any great festival has its own ways to make you jump from one mood to another, right after the musical show ended, the same alley was replaced with a mystic world where 3 giant white swans led by a white clown made their way through the spectators.
The single thing that pops into my mind when I think about swans is either the famous movie "The Black Swan" or the common swans we see on the lakes in parks. However, the ones part of the Italian show had nothing to do with any of these but actually to share lots of good vibes through silence.
Hence why, there was no need to hear those costumed in white swans speaking or doing any kind of acrobatics, because a simple smile and some chill music played in the background were enough to share the state that real swans offer in general.
Show length: 30 min
Premiere date: 30.06.2022
Original name: World of Wonder
24. Ready for the carnival
After people woke up from the mystic dream the white swans transposed every spectator in, we were thrown again in the middle of a dancing and musical show with another great Spanish band that showed some of the traditional dances and music.
It's true that most of the people paid attention to the beautiful ladies rather than the other members part of the band who were creating music in real-time, but I guess we can call them the main stars of the show considering how bright they were, both when it comes to costumes but also their dancing moves.
While I've never attended a genuine Spanish carnival which are very famous out there, I was happy to get a piece of it represented on the streets of Romania, but my boyfriend felt the show much deeper since he lived for quite a few years in Spain and it was giving a different kind of emotion.
Show length: 30 min
Premiere date: 30.06.2022
Original name: BATUCADA IN CARNIVAL
25. When wood comes to life
Another piece of Spain was also shared through the carpentry workshop that gathered lots of curious eyes starting with the younger ones until the more experienced people.
This was actually somehow connected with the Shipwrecked on The Childhood Island presented in the first part of FITS 2022 but where this time people could enjoy the work done before having a final product that kids can play with or study further.
Hence why, anyone was welcome to get in the magic mood offered by the tools that give a different meaning to the common wood we are used with, but to also use these to solve puzzles similar to an Escape Room activity.
Show length: 2 hours
Premiere date: 01.07.2022
Original name: L'Atelier
26. Once upon a time, in Bucharest
Even though FITS is famous in Sibiu, not Bucharest, that didn't keep away a Romanian dance crew coming from the capital, that gathered lots of spectators around them.
'Young Till Death' crew was actually one of the very few moments we didn't get to properly enjoy just because there were a lot of spectators around them and also the audio system was very poor which somehow contributed to us abandoning the idea to see their show that day.
Happily, they had one more representation, and this time in a different location with a better sound system and a tribune for spectators which made the whole dance more enjoyable for everyone.
However, even if we didn't get a spot on the front side and even if it was raining outside, neither of these made us want to leave anymore because their dancing skills were actually impressive and even created a story through it.
Show length: 45 min
Premiere date: 01.07.2022
Original name: A FOST ODATĂ ÎN BUCUREȘTI
27. The tumult of passion
Even if the title of this show can easily set free your imagination, is actually the definition of mixing the saxophone, guitar, voice, and dance all together.
However, considering that in their bio you could find the word 'flamenco', I personally had bigger expectations from this show, thinking that I'll finally see a flamenco demonstration which I can't wait to experience one day.
Unfortunately, the whole show was mainly limited to music that felt like something was missing, especially that the guy who was performing step dance was doing it quite rare and in pretty short periods of time.
Looking back to this moment, I can easily say that it was a show full of passion especially due to the saxophone that it's one of the sexiest musical instruments, but I still think that it could be improved a lot.
Show length: 35 min
Premiere date: 01.07.2022
Original name: SALVAJE MODERADO
28. Everything hybrid
When I first saw this object, I had no doubt what it was. I actually first thought about some mystic creature or so due to the bottom part on the left that seemed like a head.
However, now being aware of its title, everything makes more sense and it actually already shares the story behind it which is something that everyone confronts in most parts of the globe considering how quickly technology evolves.
When I was a kid, I had lots of stories about those times when we won't longer have cars with gas but actually electric ones or those that will fly for less time spent in traffic. So while we didn't get there yet, we can't say the same about more and more brands that come up with hybrid and electric vehicles which already share the sound of the future and a very technologized life.
So while hybridization seems to be a sustainable solution for the current age, the representation from the top sums up all the hybrid meanings: hybrid cars, work in hybrid mode, hybrid agriculture, hybrid classes, hybrid wars, hybrid seasons, and so on...
Show length: 24/7
Premiere date: 27.06.2022
Original name: Everything hybrid

I missed all the previous post you've told about this festival, but reading you I'm going to wander through the previous posts to get a better idea of Everything.
I agree with your opinion about the value of gypsy culture, there really are very talented people who strive to create quality art, I think it's a good idea to recognize the work of minorities even if it can become somewhat controversial, so I liked reading your position on this.
Hahaha as for the flamenco show well, it's not easy to pull off and I sincerely hope you have the opportunity to witness it in its original form, it's quite an experience.
A lot of art, colors and emotion in your images. It fills you with joy to read the description of the events, with its pluses and minuses, a very complete and interesting chronicle of which you are leaving a record.
Thank you so much for taking time to read and get through these and share your thoughts. As I often said, this is by far the most impressive festival I ever attended and I can't wait for the edition of this year.
Too bad I don't do a great job explaining better the emotions I had back there but that's because I feel the words would never be enough to get close enough.
Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤️
