RE: The Theme of Cultural Imperialism in Fela Kuti's Song, Gentleman

in GEMS4 years ago

This got my mind reflecting on the compulsory dress code and appearance we are force to maintain all through our years in Med School. Even in unconducive learning conditions, where one is bound to sweat when not putting a shirt on, we are expected to wear corporate shirts and a tie before taking lectures.
If only we could embrace our uniqueness and that of our environment rather than comparing ourselves with others, I believe we'll go a long way.
Fela Kuti is indeed a legend and an advocate of speaking the truth.

Thanks for sharing your personal experience in the medical school. Your concerns are genuine and I share those sentiments too. We really need to look within and harness our hidden potentials. Cheers!
