Saludos a mi gente de Hive, éxitos en todos los proyectos para toda las comunidades!
Les escribo para hacer un recordatorio sobre la décima espinela y otorgar un reconocimiento a nuestras cultoras y cultores del oriente venezolano extendido a escritores, poetas, trovadores y cantores en todo el planeta tierra.
Considero que parte de mi misión de vida, es difundir y proyectar a nuestros maestros de sabiduría ancestral, los cuales dedican su vida a escribir poesía, muchos de ellos analfabetas que de manera empírica dieron valor al verso desde lo oral, estos se manifiestan a través de los cantos de trabajo, cantos a capela en alta mar o en tierra firme, géneros diversos de la música tradicional que enaltecen nuestro folclor a través de la Décima Espinela que llega a Venezuela a través del Español, Músico, Novelista y Poeta Vicente Espinel en el año 1591.
Se describe en algunos textos e investigaciones que la décima ya existía antes de Espinel, algunos autores la habían utilizado pero hay un movimiento importante a finales del siglo XVI, que es cuando comienza a ser popular gracias a la proyección de Don Vicente Espinel, dándola a conocer en sus poesías en el libro Diversas Rimas. Tal es la relevancia de Espinel que consagra la décima que la sociedad del momento terminó dándole su apellido. Desde allí su aparición, se utiliza en todas las épocas de nuestra literatura, especialmente en la lírica, en el vocabulario y cotidianidad de cantos de trabajos del campesino, en el teatro, entre otros.
Dicha décima se ha mantenido en el tiempo, está vigente en el presente y extendida en toda Latinoamérica, desde grandes escritores hasta niñas, niños y adolescentes que disfrutan en la actualidad de la construcción de la misma, ejemplo Los Niños Cantores de Margarita, dirigidos por el Maestro Jesús “Pollo” Bellorín, los cuales participan en Festivales de Galerón cada año. Interesante ver la participación de Maestros y Cultores del país que hoy por hoy la defienden y la toman como herramienta pedagógica y lúdica.
La décima espinela desde el punto de vista literario, es una estrofa de diez versos octosílabos, cada décima consta de cuatro estrofas llamadas pie de décima, se escribe con rimas consonantes de la siguiente manera abbaaccddc, los 4 primeros versos componen una redondilla, luego cambia la estructura en el 5to y 6to verso (encabalgamiento) para formar entre el séptimo y décimo otra redondilla. A su vez, encabalgamiento, significa que la unidad de sentido empezada en el quinto verso, se completa en el sexto y puede ir separada de una coma u otro signo de puntuación. Así mismo, la décima tiene sentido y coherencia en el texto poético.
Por otra parte, según investigaciones, fue empleada por Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Quevedo y Góngora, entre otros escritores y poetas del siglo de Oro en España, tomando como referencia al Maestro Vicente Espinel.
En el oriente del país, casi todos los géneros se escriben en forma de décima espinela, por ejemplo, en los Estados Nueva Esparta, Sucre, Monagas y Anzoátegui, está presente en géneros musicales como el Galerón, La Gaita, El Gaitón, el Punto de Velorio con sus derivados como el Puntillanto, Punto Cruza ‘o, Punto Sala ´o, entre otros.
Dentro de las cultoras del oriente del país, recuerdo a la Maestra Juana Gómez (oriunda de Carúpano, Estado Sucre), Cantora, Cultora y Bailadora, en una oportunidad la conocí en los Talleres de Cultura Popular de la Fundación Bigott en Caracas, era un encuentro de cultores que trajeron del Estado Sucre para mostrar los Cantos de Velorio de Cruz de Mayo, fue muy emocionante, escucharla cantando el Punto Cruza´o, género que posteriormente pude aprender con el Grupo Maizal en la Dirección Musical del Maestro Ricardo Sandoval.
La Maestra Juana Gómez, fue una de las mayores exponentes del canto en forma de Décima Espinela en Carúpano, Edo. Sucre, siempre acompañada por el Maestro Epifanio Rodríguez, ejecutante de la Bandola y Mandolina o Bandolín como se le llama en oriente. Arriba pueden apreciar en la Fig. No. 1 Foto de la Cultora Juana Gómez danzando, fue tomada por el Maestro Alfonso Sandoval (Lutier e investigador de la música oriental).
Por otra parte, para dar continuidad al legado que nos deja la Maestra Juana Gómez, les dejo la letra del Punto Cruza´o que grabé en el año 2012 con el equipo de producción por12metros de Cultura, junto a la Maestra Milagros Figuera, generalmente, cada año la mostramos en las Fiestas de Cruz de Mayo de Caracas y zonas aledañas con el fin de dar continuidad a este género.

Asimismo, quiero dejar testimonio de la proyección de la décima espinela a través de los Cultores Francisco Nene Villarroel y Romelia Rodríguez de Villarroel, con quienes he tenido contacto a través de mi amigo Juan Belda (Edo Anzoátegui), hombre dedicado a la cultura, ofreciendo sus aportes en pro de la Identidad Nacional y la prolongación de generación en generación de la décima espinela, han creado un movimiento interesante en la Isla de Margarita, Edo. Nueva Esparta. En esta oportunidad me brindan la posibilidad de publicar y cantar la Glosa a la Virgen del Valle, en un homenaje brindado el pasado 8 de septiembre de 2021, en la Casona Cultural Aquiles Nazoa, en Caracas, donde tuve el privilegio de dar a conocer sus décimas con el género musical Punto del Navegante del Folclor Margariteño, así dejando un precedente del amor que sienten por la tradición y esencia del ser venezolano.
Les dejo por aquí la letra de la Décima Espinela del Cultor Francisco “Nene” Villarroel y la Cultora Romelia Rodríguez de Villarroel, escrita en forma de Glosa que consta de una breve poesía, generalmente en forma de copla con una fórmula literaria abcd con versos octosílabos (8a8b8c8b), una cuarteta abab (8a8b8a8b) o una redondilla abba (8a8b8b8a), partiendo de la glosa se desarrollan cuatro estrofas en forma de décimas que vinculan el último verso de cada pie de décima con la Glosa inicial.

Greetings to my people of Hive, success in all projects for all communities!
I am writing to make a reminder about the tenth spinel and to give a recognition to our cultors of the Venezuelan east extended to writers, poets, troubadours and singers all over the planet earth.
I consider that part of my life mission is to spread and project our masters of ancestral wisdom, who dedicate their lives to writing poetry, many of them illiterate who empirically gave value to the verse from the oral, these are manifested through the work songs, a cappella songs on the high seas or on land, diverse genres of traditional music that enhance our folklore through the Décima Espinela that arrived in Venezuela through the Spaniard, musician, novelist and poet Vicente Espinel in 1591.
It is described in some texts and research that the tenth already existed before Espinel, some authors had used it but there is an important movement at the end of the sixteenth century, which is when it begins to be popular thanks to the projection of Don Vicente Espinel, making it known in his poetry in the book Diversas Rimas. Such is the relevance of Espinel who consecrates the tenth that the society of the time ended up giving it his surname. Since its appearance, it has been used in all periods of our literature, especially in the lyric, in the vocabulary and everyday songs of peasant work, in the theater, among others.
This "décima" has been maintained in time, is in force in the present and extended throughout Latin America, from great writers to children and adolescents who currently enjoy the construction of the same, such as Los Niños Cantores de Margarita, directed by Maestro Jesús "Pollo" Bellorín, who participate in Galerón Festivals every year. It is interesting to see the participation of Teachers and Cultors of the country that today defend it and take it as a pedagogical and ludic tool.
The tenth spinel from the literary point of view, is a stanza of ten octosyllabic verses, each tenth consists of four stanzas called foot of tenth, is written with consonant rhymes as follows abbaaccddc, the first 4 lines make up a roundabout, then changes the structure in the 5th and 6th verse (encabalgamiento) to form between the seventh and tenth another roundabout.
