Good morning everyone,
Today I want to share with us my recent drawing of Van Gogh. He is one of the most famous artist of all time who rose to fame after his death. I read about him and in a way kind of see myself in him. He embodies great talents and produced over 2000 artworks in his lifetime yet was unsuccessful. He felt like a failure and was often depressed. This eventually drove him to suicide. It’s so sad that his worth was only seen after his death. His work gained popular recognition and he was seen as a genius even though he was considered a madman in his life time. How I wish he could live and see the success of his works. I just use him to console myself when I’m drained in my own emotions and depression which have been taking the better part of me lately. The things that go on in my head can’t be said outside and it can’t be pushed out. But I take each day as it comes and I’m learning to survive.
My drawing was made on pelican paper using blue biro.

Thank you so much
Love your drawing. I was fortunate enough to see some of his paintings at the museum.
Wow, that's amazing. Thank you for the comment.
This is seriously stunning. One can feel the pain and solitude of van Gogh in your artwork. What I find so interesting about your artwork of him is how much older he looks in your piece. If I remember correctly, he was not even 40 before his sad and unfortunate death. You drew his face to look much older, which I guess he was due to all the stress! Stunning artwork! I love this.
He was a troubled man with a very sad story. I assumed his health would have made him looked older than his age. I'm just happy his work lives on forever with great importance.
Thank you for the amazing comment.
Thank you for sharing your lovely art! Keep up the good work.
