He greets you with great pleasure is Tomás Enrique Grau, I am a trumpeter musician, I have come to this platform thanks to my daughter @mayegrau and her husband @jeanfrancopit who motivated me to be part of this platform, I was born in Cumaná on December 16, 1961, My parents were Isabel Grau and Tomas Torres, from a very young age I started in the world of music since my father was a musician and my mother was an excellent pastry chef from there you could say that I am passionate about these arts, on my father's side I have 33 brothers but do not believe that my mother gave birth to them all, we are only 4 children in this union, I have 5 children, two boys and three girls, two of these are with my current partner Natali Gonzáles.
Inicié mi carrera musical en el año 1975 en la escuela de música Gómez Cardiel en la catedra de teoría y solfeo e instrumentos varios, pero profesor Leopoldo Jouberth mi recomendó que me quedara con la trompeta porque era un instrumento muy versátil, luego me inscribí en la Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Cumaná en el año 1981 recibiendo clases con el maestro uruguayo Walter Pinto en la catedra de trompeta, al pasar del tiempo ya con un buen dominio de este instrumento, ingresé a la banda de concierto Libertad en el año 1985 a la cual le dediqué 33 años de servicio, en el año 1989 fui cofundador del mariachi Gran Tenampa, agrupación musical que aún formo parte siendo su director y primera trompeta; hablar de anécdotas y logros de esta agrupación es escribir demasiado por la cantidad de reconocimientos y premios obtenidos a lo largo de estos años colocándonos como el mariachi de más prestigio del oriente venezolano.
I started my musical career in 1975 at the Gómez Cardiel music school in the chair of theory and music theory and various instruments, but Professor Leopoldo Jouberth recommended that I keep the trumpet because it was a very versatile instrument, then I enrolled in the Cumaná Youth Symphony Orchestra in 1981 receiving classes with the Uruguayan teacher Walter Pinto in the trumpet chair, as time passed and with a good command of this instrument, I joined the Libertad concert band in 1985 to which I dedicated 33 years of service to him, in 1989 I was co-founder of the mariachi Gran Tenampa, a musical group that I am still part of as its director and first trumpet; To speak of anecdotes and achievements of this group is to write too much for the amount of recognitions and awards obtained throughout these years, placing us as the most prestigious mariachi in eastern Venezuela.
