Yesterday was the Sunday before Chinese Lunar New Year, so many from our church have also returned home for the celebration.
It was raining and the weather was gloomy. It's quite a rare thing as the weather for our Chinese Lunar New Year here in Malaysia has always been hot scorching sunny days.
Since it was raining and rather cold, I dressed myself and all the children up in warmer clothings. This little baby looked really adorable in her tutu dress.
Many people have commented that she has many clothes. Sometimes, it makes me feel bad for dressing her up, but I actually have set a standard within myself. Thus, none of her clothes can go beyond RM20, or the highest bar is RM25. I have decided I won't let anyone guilt trip me anymore for dressing my own daughter up because she is my one and only. In addition, sometimes I get very affordable preloved clothes like this H&M dress though brand new, I got it for RM15 with the seller giving me another 3 dresses for free as one of her twins did not manage to wear. What a steal, right? Anyway, yes, I love dressing her up, and soon she will have her own opinion on what to wear, so if not now, then when?
So, it was a usual Sunday when she took a long time to fall off to sleep, but she was cooperative in general. She has always been curious about her surroundings.
She has developed a little cute habit of pouting her lips, which is very cute to me. I tried to imitate her, too.
So sometimes she went to sit with grandma a while as I was preparing her food for her.
Then she went to examine her grandpa a while after church service was over.
After her longer nap at home, we tried on her cheongsam which is rather big on her now yet it is shorter than her ankle so it doesn't obstruct her walking so I think I will let her wear this CNY.
Then many commented asking me to cut and trim her fringe so it wont obstruct her eyes but honestly she is not bothered by it and her father wants her hair not cut so I shall adhere by his preference. Seriously, there are so many comments. But ya, I know this social media age has allowed everyone to comment more freely. Usually, during festive season such as CNY, there are bound to be even more comments, especially from relatives and friends who barely even know us. So brace ourselves, try not to be defensive, and reply respectfully instead of just keeping quiet though affected.
There is a special advertisement by Spritzer the mineral water this year that has a very good message that generation gaps are often built over communication breakdown because some chose to speak with impulse, while others just keep quiet though offended within. I suddenly realize yes when we don't communicate back but just trying to keep the harmony on the surface. It also jeopardizes relationships and will create distance.
May we all be equipped with wisdom! Of course, I am also not exempted from it. Let us all be wise and courageous to speak with well intentions!
Your little girl is absolutely adorable! I love the faces she makes. If you want to let her hair grow, that's your business. My youngest granddaughter is already three years old. She had bangs for a while, but then my daughter decided to let them grow out. She looked rather unkempt for a while, until they got long enough to fasten them back out of her face. It was just part of the process. But then her mommy decided to cut the bangs again. She is beautiful either way, and so is your little one.
My daughter has a friend who sends her clothes that her daughter has outgrown. Once she sent about 50 dresses, all the same size. She shared them with friends, because there was no way one little girl could wear them all!
Thanks so much for your warm comment @scribblingramma! :)
