Seeing My Son Growing More and More

Only a week more left to school reopening. I am always very nervous for this.

My sons are having a one-month holiday where 2 weeks are taken up by CNY. It is a mixed feeling. The happy feeling is that the full length of CNY all 15 days fall in the school holidays period. But the reluctant feeling is yes many days spent on CNY so it feels like the holidays is a bit short.

Anyway, I am slowly crawling back to reality as I bring this eldest son out to try and buy his school uniforms because he has outgrown the old ones. He will be starting primary 4 which is a lot harder than before, especially with learning History in mandarin. Oh God bless us and help us please.

I remember when I first took him out to buy things before he started kindergarten and then we went to prepare him entering lower primary school and now upper primary school. I don't know what to feel.

Nevertheless, we went out on exclusive time with each other and kept trying lots of school uniforms in 2 different malls.

We took some photos together too.

He took a nice photo for me and I took another one of him.

Then it was brand after brand trying, sizes after sizes. I'm buying back the same old brand we have been using which is Parkson school shop, but upsize 2 sizes for him. I needed 3 pieces of this Koshibo material, which is an iron free material but only managed to find 2 pieces.

Then it was comparing the long pants length and waist length. The difficult part is he is rarher slender so when the length of the pants may fit him, the waist length may not. When the waist length is good, the pants length may be too short. So we took a while to try.

Good thing was I met very very friendly promoters in both malls who helped me as much as they could. So thankful.

We also went to try on some school bags which is this brand Yome, from Hong Kong. It was a pleasant surprise for me to find it sold in the local departmental store. I have ordered the same brand for my son from Taobao and now it is still stucked at the local custom. I am really really hoping that it gets released soon. This brand has lighter bags so I hope it helps to relieve his burden.

We had a quick lunch at A&w which I forgot to take photos of the curly fries and chicken tenders for my son. I had my usual coney dog.

Then we went to another mall where we concluded our shopping for today with 3 school shirts and 1 long pants. I bought another 2 long pants of the same brand online for him because though I could get 10% off, it is still nearly rm10 cheaper if I purchase via online shopping platforms.

However, it was important for us to try the sizing in physical shops. So both are essential necessary, in my opinion. Recently my students were asked to give their opinions about online shopping VS physical shops.

It was a fruitful day though I have some more to buy like school badges and PE shirts next week. I hope my boys can still enjoy their last week of holidsys.
