My car is still at the workshop being serviced. It met an accident and the front part was injured. Last Saturday, I didn't get to go to my aunty place and she hopes we could make it this round.
.
Therefore, I had decided to walk, since it was only 500metre away. And it had been awhile I walked on the road, crossing the road, and etc, oh well, city peep here.
Me - enjoying crossing the road!
I decided to walk by myself without the boys, they were at home with my brother. Also, one holding a small stainless container and another hand holding a bigger woven bag of tiffin carrier and pot because my aunt would pack food for the rest of the family, as well as for our dinner.
Sumptuous Lunch
Look at her face full of satisfaction cooking and serving. Love love love...
She cooked for us :
- Radish soup with chicken broth goodness
- Baked chicken with soy sauce glaze
- Stir fry pork slices with salted vegetables
- Stir fry ladies finger with curry powder
Radish Soup with Chicken broth
She usually had boiled chicken broth the day before to have pre-made yummy goodness chicken essense. This time, she added some Chinese herbs too, considering my boys just done their vaccination. Then on Saturday, she added in radish and some chicken to cook this soup. All natural flavouring.
Baked Chicken with Soy Sauce.
This one she cooked it in special way, she pan fried the chicken first. And from the oil, she made the sauce. She placed all the chicken on a pan, and poured the sauce on top the chicken and put to bake in the oven till the chicken was cooked. That way, she said, the chicken slightly crispy on the outside and would be soft inside.
Stir fry pork slices
This was one of her Hakka dish. My mum cooked this too because she is a Hakka peep too. Stir fry pork slices with ginger, onions and salted vegetables. It could be salty so always soaked the salted vegetables first to reduce the saltiness.
Stir fry ladies fingers.
This was also usual Chinese stir fry method using garlic and onions, but for a twist, instead of adding turmeric powder, this time she added curry powder because she said my eldest love curry. So so yummy, not spicy at all that even my youngest could eat.
Packing
She then packed for me to bring back for the family.
Walking back, I couldn't help but to walk slow. This brought back so much memory down the road, when I was young, I walked often, to school and to another side of roads or lane to meet up with friends, catching tadpoles or dragonflies to observe then to release them back to nature. Kind of miss young days.
Love looking out for trees nearby the roads I was walking too. I placed down the stuff I carried on the floor for me to take photo.
Meeting a friend.
I suppose to meet up a friend for a tea because she bought me presents for my birthday. But she just received news she was a close contact with her colleague who was positive, so we cancelled our teatime, but instead, she drove to my apartment lobby to pass stuffs to me. We had not meet each other for 10 years and we acknowledged we still looked the same except some wrinkles and white hair emerging. She said we were no longer young and she just bought herself some skincare products which after that, God put a prompting in her heart to buy for me. She said God called me specifically the bride of Jesus, spotless and without blemish. How cool was that! Lol...
These are what she bought for me.
Of course, the marshmallows were for the boys.
