My Anger Story

in GEMS5 years ago

I have had interest in Computer/IT since I was a teenager. My present love is undeniable and it pushes me everyday. When I was self-teaching myself graphics, the first thing I learnt was human relations. This is a skill that requires your patience and humility. There are clients that will frustrate you and your effort. Well, I have handled the best and the worst.

My anger story will make you angry too. I have met quite a good number of excellent designers and they inspire me to be better. With this Corona epidemic happening around the world, the people around here are slacking. How can a designer charge N200 for graphics? After all your effort, the client will still abuse you and send recharge card. This is barbaric and annoying. Many of these clients know the worth but will still make you feel less of yourself. Don't let hunger push you to charge ridiculous amount for your sweat. It is affecting others too. This is not only for designers but other skilled professions.

Freelancing takes a toll on your psych. I remember my first writing gig. I got paid N500 for a 2000words article on something I knew very little about and I needed to do research work. I quitted after a week.

That's too poor. I was complaining of a #1 per word writing job
