Hola hivers! Hace un par de días leí una iniciativa de @gabygonz acerca de qué es lo que más te gusta de tu país. Es una pregunta muy interesante, de hecho, llevo varios días pensando en ella porque es muy difícil decidirme. Nací en la tierra de Bolívar – Venezuela- y debo decir que me siento muy orgullosa de ser hija de esta hermosa tierra.
En principio, debo contarles que no logré decidirme por un solo aspecto, son tantos elementos que me encantan que les presentaré algunos de ellos…aquí voy.
La belleza de sus paisajes
Venezuela cuenta con una diversidad paisajística increíble. En un solo territorio se conjugan hermosas playas de diferentes colores con un frente caribeño y atlántico, una parte de la cordillera andina, que la provee de hermosos páramos y picos nevados, una selva amazónica exuberante compartida con otros países de la región, que nos permite contar uno de los pulmones vegetales más importantes del mundo y con hermosas caídas de agua, como el “Salto Ángel” la más alta de planeta. No podemos dejar atrás la existencia de médanos y dunas de arena.
Me encanta el mar, por lo que una de las cosas que más he disfrutado de mi país es viajar a diversas playas. El primer lugar en mi corazón lo ocupan Los Roques, un archipiélago con islas y bancos de arena de una belleza inigualable. Uno de ellos “Cayo de Agua”, representa el paisaje más hermoso e impresionante que mis ojos han visto.
También he disfrutado de las hermosas playas de “Morrocoy” con sus aguas color azul turquesa y de mi amado “Mochima” donde encontré un pueblito pintoresco llamado “Santa Fe” en el que llevo diez años vacacionando y atrapó mi corazón, porque tiene un sereno mar tocando a tu puerta con el duermes y te levantas como s estuvieras “Fuera de este mundo”. También hay hermosas costas en Aragua, Carabobo, Miranda y Vargas; de hecho, escribiendo este post me provocó salir corriendo a darme un chapuzón (o baño de playa).
Su maravilloso clima tropical
Una de las bondades de nuestro país, sin duda, lo es su clima, cuyas temperaturas oscilan entre los 20° y 40° C durante todo el año, a veces con un ascenso o descenso de un par de grados por encima o por debajo en algunos espacios, esto gracias a que es un país intertropical. El venezolano promedio usa abrigo con 18°C, y es que estamos habituados a un maravilloso calorcito. Esto hace que no tengamos cuatro estaciones, que son hermosas claro está, pero que hacen que las personas deban adaptarse a temperaturas extremas.
El clima tropical hace que nuestra tierra sea muy fértil para gran cantidad de cultivos. De hecho, desde casa podemos cultivar fácilmente algunos vegetales de manera sencilla. También podemos ir a la playa durante todo el año, puesto que la temperatura de sus aguas es agradable.
Su gastronomía
Debo decir que me encanta la gastronomía venezolana porque en ella se conjugan diversidad de sabores que han nacido al calor de nuestra historia y son el resultado de la conjugación de la mezcla cultural ocurrida hace más de 500 años entre los aborígenes -pobladores autóctonos de nuestro territorio- los españoles -quienes colonizaron estas tierras- y los africanos –traídos en condición de esclavos a nuestro territorio por los españoles.
Tenemos comidas espectaculares como las arepas de maíz y las cachapas (de origen indígena), las arepas andinas (hechas a base de trigo por lo que tienen una raíz española) y el funche de origen africano. Hay un platillo que representa la conjugación de estas tres culturas: la hallaca porque contiene harina de maíz de origen indígena, el uso de aceitunas, alcaparras y pasas, tradición española incluida en este plato y la acción de cocinarla envuelta en hojas de plátano que emerge de los esclavos africanos, quienes recolectaban sobras de comida de sus amos y las cocinaban de esta manera peculiar. La hallaca representa una hermosa tradición que no puede faltar en nuestra mesa en navidad o año nuevo y es preparado en familia.
Hay tantas cosas que me gustan de Venezuela, que un solo post es un espacio muy corto para dar rienda suelta a mis afectos nacionalistas. Debo decir que por mis venas corre un sentido de identidad y arraigo increíble, y como dice una de nuestras más populares canciones: Llevo en mi sangre la espuma de mar y tu horizonte en mis ojos”

Hi hivers! A couple of days ago I read an initiative by @gabygonz about what do you like most about your country. It's a very interesting question, in fact, I've been thinking about it for several days because it's very difficult to decide. I was born in the land of Bolivar - Venezuela - and I must say that I feel very proud to be a daughter of this beautiful land.
At first, I must tell you that I couldn't decide for just one aspect, there are so many elements that I love that I will present you some of them...here I go.
The beauty of its landscapes
Venezuela has an incredible diversity of landscapes. In a single territory, beautiful beaches of different colors are combined with a Caribbean and Atlantic front, a part of the Andean mountain range, which provides it with beautiful moors and snowy peaks, an exuberant Amazon jungle shared with other countries in the region, which allows us to have one of the most important vegetable lungs in the world and with beautiful waterfalls, such as the "Angel Falls" the highest in the planet. We cannot leave behind the existence of sand dunes and sand dunes.
I love the sea, so one of the things I have enjoyed most about my country is traveling to different beaches. The first place in my heart goes to Los Roques, an archipelago with islands and sandbanks of unparalleled beauty. One of them, "Cayo de Agua", represents the most beautiful and impressive landscape my eyes have ever seen.
I have also enjoyed the beautiful beaches of "Morrocoy" with its turquoise blue waters and my beloved "Mochima" where I found a picturesque little town called "Santa Fe" where I have been vacationing for ten years and caught my heart, because it has a serene sea knocking at your door with which you sleep and wake up as if you were "out of this world". There are also beautiful coasts in Aragua, Carabobo, Miranda and Vargas; in fact, writing this post provoked me to run out for a dip (or beach bath).
Its wonderful tropical climate
One of the benefits of our country, without a doubt, is its climate, whose temperatures range between 20° and 40° C throughout the year, sometimes with a rise or fall of a couple of degrees above or below in some areas, thanks to the fact that it is an intertropical country. The average Venezuelan wears a coat with 18°C, and we are used to a wonderful warmth. This means that we do not have four seasons, which are beautiful of course, but they make people have to adapt to extreme temperatures.
The tropical climate makes our land very fertile for many crops. In fact, from home we can easily grow some vegetables in a simple way. We can also go to the beach all year round, since the temperature of its waters is pleasant.
Its gastronomy
I must say that I love Venezuelan gastronomy because it combines a diversity of flavors that have been born in the heat of our history and are the result of the combination of the cultural mix that occurred more than 500 years ago between the aborigines - native inhabitants of our territory - the Spaniards - who colonized these lands - and the Africans - brought as slaves to our territory by the Spaniards.
We have spectacular foods such as corn arepas and cachapas (of indigenous origin), Andean arepas (made from wheat, so they have Spanish roots) and funche of African origin. There is a dish that represents the conjugation of these three cultures: the hallaca because it contains corn flour of indigenous origin, the use of olives, capers and raisins, Spanish tradition included in this dish and the action of cooking it wrapped in banana leaves that emerges from the African slaves, who collected leftovers from their masters and cooked them in this peculiar way. The hallaca represents a beautiful tradition that can not miss on our table at Christmas or New Year and is prepared in family.
There are so many things I love about Venezuela, that a single post is too short a space to give free rein to my nationalistic affections. I must say that through my veins runs an incredible sense of identity and rootedness, and as one of our most popular songs says, "I carry in my blood the foam of Venezuela's nationalism: I carry in my blood the sea foam and your horizon in my eyes."
