Hey there, my fellow bookworms! A new mall in our neighborhood just opened last weekend- the SM Jmall. I thought of visiting the new place a few weeks after the opening since I know thousands of people will flock into the mall during the opening.
This is the National Book Store located inside the mall. Finding this hidden gem was actually a coincidence since i wasn't really expecting this transformation form this seasoned bookstore. To give context, in our local city, National Book Store is one of the oldest book shop which also sells school and office supplies. Unfortunately, the trend of this store for the past few years is leaning towards school and office supplies and less on books. Thus, there are other emerging bookstores, such as Fully Booked, that have better book selections.
Upon seeing this part of the book store, I felt ecstatic, in an instant! This is a version 2.0 of the national Book Store with the biggest variety of selections- from non-fiction, sci-fi, romance, classics, teens and children's books, they have it all. Not to mention, they have this huge manga section too! The aesthetic of the book shop reminds me of Starfield Library, one of the biggest shopping malls in South Korea.
My favorite is their novels section as i found many books from famous authors such as Taylor Jenkins Reid, Rainbow Rowell, Mitch Albom, and Madeline Miller.
Although i noticed some people visited National Book Store to compare prices with that of Fully Booked, a book store also located inside the mall. They must be surprised of the transformation of the store too.
I wasn't able to stay long as the mall was about to close already. I will definitely come back in J-mall and visit this book store again, soon.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
love, Jane
