Hi, Hivers from around the world 👋

After my last post introducing myself, I wanted to continue sharing experiences for you guys to get to know me a little bit better.

As I said in my last post, I’m originally from Venezuela 🇻🇪, a beautiful country located north of South America where amazing beaches and landscapes are the rules. For several reasons, I now live in Argentina, a country that has another kind of vibe, but still, it is an amazing country you should visit if you have the chance.

But this post isn’t actually about an experience in Argentina 🇦🇷, I will write some other posts telling you about some of my experiences in this great land. I wanted to share my experience in Uruguay 🇺🇾 during the last holidays, more specifically in Punta del Este, one of the most coveted destinations among Argentines for its great beaches and exclusive spots. We went with a couple of my closest friends to spend a couple of days of relaxation during the COVID pandemic and I'm sure many people can relate to this.

The day was December 29th and we decided to get in our car and start our journey. You can get to Uruguay by crossing the Rio de la Plata that separates Argentina from Uruguay or you can get there by driving. It is cheaper this way and the landscapes are not so bad at all. We had all of our documents to cross the border and after an eight-hour drive, we finally made it to Punta 😁.

We rented a small apartment for the four of us in a very good location. However, we had to battle who will get the big bed. Unfortunately, I lost but it didn’t matter, I was still happy to be right next to the ocean. We settled in and head to the beach very early in the morning the next day.

That was a sunset photo taken by me the first day. Punta del Este has one of the most amazing sunsets you will ever see. No filters needed 👌🏻. After that, we went back to the apartment and decided what we were going to do for new year’s eve. We decided to go to a party in a big house outside of the city with a big amazing outdoor yard. I speak for myself but I didn’t want to get COVID. Boy, was I wrong 😑.

I said thanks for all of the amazing things that happened to me during 2021, despite all of the bad things that were going on around the world, I don’t know, I felt very lucky to be where I was. Even though Uruguay is one of the most expensive countries in the region and the Argentine peso is currently worthless, I made a huge effort and managed to have a great time 😎.

After two more days after the new year’s eve party, we decided to go back to Argentina but not without one more sunset photo at the beach. ☀️

After that photo, I started to feel a little bit tired but I guessed it was because I didn’t have much sleep during our trip so I decided to ignore it. It was only the beginning 🦠 .

I got back home in Buenos Aires at night, took a shower, and went straight to bed because I had to work the next day. Otherwise, how was I supposed to pay the credit card the next month 😂. I woke up, had a cup of coffee, and started to feel bad. I was burning up and the headache was killing me.

Oh no, I tested positive for COVID!. I spent a whole week in bed feeling terrible and I even thought why did I go to that party?. Luckily I’m vaccinated with two doses and nothing bad happened but all the great memories from the trip are going to stay with me forever. I think that is more important and most people can relate to this!

I guess what I’m trying to say here is: LIVE! go out, explore, meet new places and take care of yourself and others. This has been my experience. I’m sure some of you had similar experiences during this pandemic. But, after all of this stays in the past, what are you going to tell your family, children, and friends? that you tried to make the best out of the situation or that you didn’t live your life like you wanted because of this?

Take care, be patient, and have fun, this will pass.

This has been my experience traveling during COVID 😁 let me know what you think and if you had a similar experience!

Be safe out there! ✌🏻
