Hoy quiero enseñarles el crecimiento de esta hermosa flor tan conocida a nivel mundial, protagonista de muchos jardines, regalo ideal, bellísimo y romántico para cualquier mujer y además con muchos usos comerciales, cosméticos y medicinales de los que le hablaré más adelante. Y ésta reina no es más que el LIRIO conocida también como la Azucena, unas de mis preferidas y la consentida de mi hermana menor.
Today I want to show you the growth of this beautiful flower so well known worldwide, the protagonist of many gardens, an ideal, beautiful and romantic gift for any woman and also with many commercial, cosmetic and medicinal uses that I will talk about later. And this queen is nothing more than the LILY also known as the Azucena , one of my favorites and the darling of my younger sister.
Éste Lirio Anaranjado es muy común por el Oriente de Venezuela, suele sembrarse en cualquier época del año ya que en nuestro país prácticamente contamos con dos estaciones muy similares entre sí, cuya principal diferencia radica en las precipitaciones. En éste caso para su siembra realizamos un hoyo no muy profundo (10 cm) en el que añadimos tierra negra, de palo, de fibra de coco, moho de hojas o materia orgánica (compost) para enriquecer el suelo y favorecer un buen drenaje, luego depositamos el bulbo y rellenamos con un poco más de tierra que no lo cubra completamente, y después presionamos para que quede fijo en la tierra dejándose una pequeña superficie por encima de la misma, una vez sembrado procedemos a su riego como pasó final. Como pudieron notar, son plantas de fácil siembra que se adaptan a gran variedad de climas.
This Orange Lily is very common in the East of Venezuela, it is usually sown at any time of the year since in our country we practically have two very similar seasons, whose main difference lies in rainfall. In this case, to plant it, we make a shallow hole (10 cm) in which we add black soil, wood, coconut fiber, leaf mold or organic matter (compost) to enrich the soil and promote good drainage. Then we deposit the bulb and fill it with a little more soil that does not cover it completely, and then we press so that it remains fixed in the soil, leaving a small surface above it, once sown we proceed to its irrigation as the final step. As you could see, they are easy to grow plants that adapt to a wide variety of climates.
Un dato importante en éste tipo de plantas, es que deben recibir una buena cantidad de sol directo en el día y no abusar con el riego ya que ella no tolera el exceso de humedad porque tienden a podrirse y morir. Son plantas muy fuertes y resistentes porque sus tallos son frondosos que forman bulbos subterráneos, gracias a los cuales pueden guardar nutrientes y pasar durante las épocas más frías sin dificultad y es allí más bien donde se preparan para florecer. Sin embargo, sus patrones de germinación son distintos también dependiendo de dónde se encuentren y el clima que tengan. Pueden observar en ésta foto que tiene bastante arbusto y luego no, porque es una práctica común podarlas para q florezcan de mejor manera. La serie de fotos anteriores es el crecimiento del lirio de mi hermana.
An important fact in this type of plants is that they should receive a good amount of direct sun during the day and not overuse it with watering since it does not tolerate excess humidity because they tend to rot and die. They are very strong and resistant plants because their stems are leafy that form underground bulbs, thanks to which they can store nutrients and pass through the colder times without difficulty and it is there rather where they prepare to bloom. However, their germination patterns are also different depending on where they are and what climate they have. You can see in this photo that it has a lot of bush and then no, because it is a common practice to prune them so that they flourish in a better way. Y la que les muestro a continuación es el avance de nuestro Lirio Anaranjado en casa, que sembramos en una maseta directamente, y particularmente estaba muy malcriada y cual caprichosa no quería crecer, motivo por el cual la regañamos al punto que tuvimos que darle un ultimatum que si no florecía no la íbamos a consentir sino replantear para otro lugar apartado donde nadie la podría contemplar ya que no se dejaba y en su lugar íbamos a plantar el captus y para nuestra sorpresa resultó el regaño y chaparrón de agua como decimos en nuestro país, pues inmediatamente empezó a dar señales de vida que resultaron en ése espectacular y exótico Lirio Anaranjado.
And the one that I show you below is the advancement of our Orange Lily at home, which we planted in a pot directly, and in particular she was very spoiled and how capricious she did not want to grow, which is why we scolded her to the point that we had to give her an ultimatum that if it did not flourish, we were not going to allow it but to rethink it for another secluded place where no one could contemplate it since it was not left and instead we were going to plant the captus and to our surprise it was the scolding and shower of water as we say in our country , because immediately it began to give signs of life that resulted in that spectacular and exotic Orange Lily.
A manera de información adicional les comento que es normal encontrar éste tipo de plantas en zonas montañas y boscosas, así como en otros completamente diferentes, como es el caso de los pantanos. El género al que pertenecen (Lilium) está compuesto por unas 110 especies diferenciadas gratamente por sus tamaños, colores y forma de sus hojas imposibles de no perderse y disfrutar de tan inmensa y espectaculares colección y como les comenté al principio, ésta flor tiene muchas propiedades comerciales y medicinales siendo algunas las siguientes:
By way of additional information, I would like to tell you that it is normal to find this type of plant in mountain and wooded areas, as well as in completely different ones, such as swamps. The genus to which they belong (Lilium) is made up of about 110 species pleasantly differentiated by their sizes, colors and shape of their leaves impossible not to get lost and enjoy such an immense and spectacular collection and as I mentioned at the beginning, this flower has many properties commercial and medicinal being some of the following:
• Perfumes y cremas con su aroma debido a la buena fragancia que desprenden sobre todo del lirio oriental.

• Plantaciones a gran escala como es el caso de Holanda, país que más bulbos de lirios produce para exportarlos a otros países como Canadá, Europa y Estados Unidos; y Colombia, país que ha conseguido hacer un importante negocio gracias a la floricultura.
• Su aceite tiene muchas aplicaciones para la relajación del cuerpo, desinflamar contusiones o lesiones, para aplicar sobre úlceras, marcas de la piel, pecas y quemaduras.
• Su aceite en infusiones tiene muy buenos efectos diuréticos en nuestro cuerpo.
• Mejora el aspecto que tienen las verrugas a través del cataplasmas creadas con los bulbos de los lirios.
• Se utiliza en cremas antiarrugas, debido a que sus bulbos tienen un poder bioactivante que mejora la apariencia de la piel y ayuda a regenerarla.
• Debido a su elegancia, ésta flor forma parte de los emblemas de algunos países, instituciones y casas.
• Perfumes and creams with their aroma due to the good fragrance that they give off especially the oriental lily.
• Small lily plantations for sale to nurseries, retail for gardens, in seeds for planting and as flower arrangements and gifts.
• Large-scale plantations such as the Netherlands, the country that produces the most lily bulbs for export to other countries such as Canada, Europe and the United States; and Colombia, a country that has managed to do an important business thanks to floriculture.
• Its oil has many applications to relax the body, reduce inflammation of bruises or injuries, to apply on ulcers, skin marks, freckles and burns.
• Its oil in infusions has very good diuretic effects on our body.
• Improves the appearance of warts through the poultice created with the bulbs of lilies.
• It is used in anti-wrinkle creams, because its bulbs have a bio-activating power that improves the appearance of the skin and helps to regenerate it.
• Due to its elegance, this flower is part of the emblems of some countries, institutions and houses.
El origen del lirio proviene del Antiguo Egipto. Y tenía muchos significado y honores como:
• El poder divino de los dioses en la tierra de los Faraones.
• Adornaba los sarcófagos, además de los palacios de los reyes.
• En la Antigua Grecia la asociaba con la unión entre el mundo de los seres eternos y los hombres.
• Con la alegría y las diosas más bonitas debido a su belleza.
• Podían observarse en murales cristianos y pinturas porque simbolizaba la castidad y la pureza.
• También representaba la riqueza, pues la realiza también utilizaba los lirios para decorar las residencias de los más ricos y los castillos.
• Del “lirio” dijo Jesús que “ni aún Salomón con toda su gloria se vistió así como uno de ellos” (Mat 6:28, 29; figs 209, 321). Bib.: PB 41-46.

Un consejo para los hombres románticos, detallistas y porque no a todas las mujeres, si quieren regalar lirios, no te olvides de hacerlo teniendo en cuenta su simbología, que está basada en el color de sus pétalos:

5.) Lirios morados: son ideales para regalar en una luna de miel donde todo puede pasar y el deseo y la pasión están en sus niveles máximos.
6.) Lirios jaspeados: Símbolo de devoción, respeto y amistad, además de sinceridad por parte del que la regala como de quien la recibe.

Como dato curioso para la boda de la Princesas heredera Victoria de Suecia y el empresario Daniel Westing, fueron exportados casi 10 mil lirios desde Colombia a Estocolmo.
As a curious fact for the wedding of the Crown Princesses Victoria of Sweden and the businessman Daniel Westing, almost 10,000 lilies were exported from Colombia to Stockholm.
Y en mi humilde boda ésta fue la flor protagonista de mi bouquét y decoración aparte de nuestro amor y yo claro está jajajajaja. Por supuesto no en la proporción d la boda mencionada anteriormente jajajaja.
And in my humble wedding this was the main flower of my bouquets and decoration apart from our love and of course I am hahahahaha. Of course not in the proportion of the wedding mentioned above hahaha.
Y aquí podemos ver dos hermosuras, la princesita más pequeña de la casa al lado de un lirio blanco que también tenemos en casa pero no ha vuelto a florecer.
And here we can see two beauties, the smallest princess in the house next to a white lily that we also have at home but it has not bloomed again.
