Well, this Tuesday, Ema and I will give you another cake recipe. This cake is quite unique and is often made to break the fast in the month of Ramadan. This Klepon cake comes from Java and includes traditional snacks that are quite popular today. Honestly, klepon is the cake that I like the most among other traditional Javanese cakes. Well, the ingredients for making this pumpkin klepon don't cost much and you can buy all of these ingredients at the nearest supermarket or market. The first ingredient you have to prepare is pumpkin that you have washed and cut into pieces, glutinous rice flour, brown sugar, pandan leaves, salt, mineral water, grated coconut and instant coconut milk. after you have prepared all the ingredients, now let's start the first step of making pumpkin klepon.
the first step, what you have to do first is prepare the steamer and heat it first, after the steamer has started to heat up, now put all the pumpkins into the steamer and steam until cooked and tender over medium heat.
the second step, after you have finished steaming the pumpkin until cooked and tender, now prepare a frying pan and put enough brown sugar into the pan. Then, put 2 tablespoons of mineral water into the pan and stir continuously until the brown sugar dissolves over low heat.
the third step, after the brown sugar has completely dissolved, now we will return to the pumpkin that has been steamed. Now move the pumpkin to another place and now put enough grated coconut, 1 pandan leaf and half a teaspoon of salt. Steam for about 10 minutes so that the coconut doesn't go stale.
the fourth step, while the grated coconut is being steamed, now put all the pumpkin into 1 place and puree all the pumpkin using a tablespoon only.
the fifth step, after the pumpkin is completely smooth, now all you have to do is prepare a place and put 500 grams of glutinous rice flour, 30 grams of sugar, half a teaspoon of salt and mashed sweet potato. Next, stir until the dough is completely blended.
the sixth step, after the dough has been stirred until well blended, now all you have to add to the dough is 1 pack of instant coconut milk and enough warm water. Then, stir the dough again until you can shape it. and if the dough is hard then you can add enough mineral water.
seventh step, after the dough has been mixed well and can be shaped, now all you have to do is test the dough by taking a little dough and forming a round dough. If the dough doesn't break, then you can move on to the next step.
the eighth step, after the dough is completely finished and successful, now prepare a large size place and put enough mineral water and also 1 pandan leaf. Then, heat the water until it is really hot.
the ninth step, while the water is being heated, now what you have to do next is take a little dough and put brown sugar on top of the dough.
tenth step, after you have finished filling brown sugar into the dough, now put the dough into a place that has been filled with hot water before. Boil the dough for a few minutes.
the eleventh step, after the dough is being boiled, how do you know that the dough can actually be lifted? Well, you can see the dough will float like the photo above. After all the dough has floated, wait for 5 minutes and transfer it to a plate.
the last step, after all the dough has been transferred, now prepare a plate and put enough grated coconut into the plate. Then, spread all the dough into the grated coconut until it is completely flat.
and finally, pumpkin klepon you can eat with your family and friends at the time of breaking the fast. Well, this pumpkin klepon is very rare to find and usually klepon uses green dye. The klepon has been modified a lot, so it's very rare for us to see the klepon that is being sold is the klepon that has been modified. the taste of this klepon is no longer in doubt and I am really addicted. I really like the ingredients used to prepare this dessert, I could imagine its flavor since here in Venezuela we also prepare a cake with these ingredients, not including coconut. Thanks for sharing your recipe girls
