Building Your Super-Self: STEP ONE - Dump The Fucking Noise

in GEMS5 years ago

A few years ago, there was this moment, the memory of which I hold very dear. It was a moment where I had felt I had rediscovered myself.

This rediscovery was subtle and effortless. It was like shedding off a cloak of invisibility that has shielded me from the eyes of the Universe.

Desires that I have held for years had manifested, I was surrounded by amazing people, my intuition was super-clear and many of the things that I had half-understood or wasn’t clear on had sharpened and focused in my mind to an unbelievable degree.

Money, relationships, health - the Universe was giving me all that I have asked for, and then some.

And it all started with a decision to build my Super-Self.

Now, this was some time ago, and I have had my fair share of detours and missteps since then, but I am determined to get back THERE, in that mental and emotional space, and focus on doing the work necessary to make that happen.

I'm thinking - I got there once before, so I can fucking do it again!

The Super-Self

I would describe this Super-Self as ME, but without emotional baggage. ME, focused on the fundamentals. ME, living with faith and complete trust in the Universe. ME, accepting fully my role as a vibrational being.

For the past few years, I have managed to drastically diverge emotionally from my intellectual beliefs. It was kind of sad, you know, to see a guy (me) who believes so intensely in the LAW OF ATTRACTION and one’s ability to allow the Universe to MANIFEST ANYTHING, struggling in certain areas so much.

It is a case of not working the fundamentals, but getting dragged into the same emotional patterns over and over again.

Some people can ease into things, while others need to make a loud entrance. At this time in my life, I need to make a BIG MOVE, and re-focus my life DRASTICALLY.

Today, I want to talk about my STEP ONE.

Step One - Dump The Fuckin’ Noise

On the path toward building your super-self, ELIMINATING NOISE is one of the most vital requirements.

Noise is anything that obfuscates, emotionalizes and distorts your perception of reality.

News, politics, tv programming, your neighbor’s gossip...NOISE!

In this age of 24/7 Covid-19 quarantine life bizzaro world, it's more important than ever to be mindful of the noise we let in into our minds.

By avoiding noise, at least for a while, you open yourself up to understanding. You get a chance to increase your emotional awareness, thereby elevating your ability to center yourself and live life from a sense of inner stillness.

You free up your attention so that you can more easily HEAR and UNDERSTAND yourself and the guidance coming from the Universe.

The goal here is not to avoid information about the world, or the events in it, but give yourself time to align your vibrations and start attracting the information from a more peaceful, loving and confident place.

The media companies are in the business of attracting eyeballs, so they appeal to the lowest common denominator. Blood, sex and outrage - that’s what they sell to people who are eager to buy.

And it’s very easy to justify why you keep reading about daily events and politics, but those justifications, whatever they are, are BULLSHIT.

Throw out the noise, and fill in the space with deliberateness, contemplation and vibrational alignment.

The Road Ahead

The initial phase is somewhat brutal. When you stop reading the newspaper, people suddenly want to read out portions of the news to you aloud. As soon as you stop your binge-watching addiction, a friend starts to mercilessly plug his newest “best tv show of all time” to you. A neighbor you were fortunate enough to miss on the stairwell of your building comes over to ask for a favor and talks to you about the rich people and how they are robbing the country blind.

But that’s only the Universe responding to your vibe and your resistance to change. If you stay the course, it will pass and on the other side you will find the goodies.

Letting go of the noise is step one. Step two is attracting meaningful information and activity to fill in the empty space. And for that, you need to manage your vibration.

Building your Super-Self is a process of getting reacquainted with your VIBRATIONAL SELF.

We are very bad at knowing what we need to fulfill our desires. If you don’t believe me, just go read Nassim Taleb:-) So why not start living a vibrational life and start putting a little bit more trust in the Universe?

It starts by dumping the noise.

Ya know, I got so fucking burned out on personal development and disillusioned with all the cliche over-marketed Law Of Attraction dogma, but you seem to have a unique take on the concept that feels rather refreshing.

I'm glad to have found your stuff. (Or rather, for you finding me first... or both.)

🍻

I'm glad too! Always excited to find someone who challenges my thinking (your posts have real depth, which is fucking rare!).

Btw, the feeling of being burned out on the whole law of attraction scene - I get it! I once spent three days harassing Joe Vitale on his blog (fun times, haha) for what I perceived to be a money-grubbing mentality and a lack of depth when it comes to some of the stuff he was peddling.

And I once spent 45 days of sustained daily effort aimed at finding evidence that the law of attraction is bullshit, because I was sick of all the gurus and the feeling that I was being SOLD a hook that was supposed to reel me in and squeeze me for every dollar in my wallet and every minute of my attention.

I wanted it to be real, but I knew about confirmation bias and all the other stuff that might actually be making me a sucker, so I decided to immunize myself against the bullshit.

End result is me attempting to use critical thinking and nuance whenever I can (often quite unsuccessfully).

P.S. I will be posting more "conspiracy meets vibration" posts on my @vibrational account and, starting on Monday, posting via @bookclub (book reviews, big ideas from books, etc...). There's a 9/11 post I plan on doing on @vibrational - I'm really looking forward to seeing what you think about it.

Cheers!

🤣

I must confess: as evil as it sounds, I was actually kind of pleased when I'd encountered him commenting in a Facebook group random about going through a rough divorce. Granted, my own marriage was falling apart at the time - so it was sort nice to receive a seeming-confirmation that even the alleged LOA gurus were human and couldn't fool-proof themselves with their theories against such relationship disasters.

Cool. haha. 😎

Feel free to check back and post a link to your 9/11 post if I happen not to come across and comment on it, as I don't often spend alot of time in my feeds here but would be curious to read...

I'll probably post it tomorrow (I'll let you know). I wanted to do it today, but got sidetracked with a post about Star Wars!
