RE: My Covid Experience

in GEMS4 years ago

I am so glad that in the end you won the fight against the virus, @deerjay. I am pretty sure the (little) things, which you are still experiencing, will be gone soon.

Me and my family belong to the ones who had the virus but didn't notice it much - just a running nose and a light flu, but not much more ... and we couldn't smell anything. I still can't smell a lot and that's quite funny sometimes ;)

Wishing you a wonderful Sunday, take care and keep on fighting against the rest of this little devil inside you, so that it's leaving you and you'll be healthy as before.

Thanks so much @johannpiber!! It was when I lost my sense of smell that I began to suspect covid. It came back while I was in the hospital though. It is odd because, for me anyway, the sense of smell is gone but there is an almost chemical smell left in its place. That still comes and goes for me right now and although it isn't horrendous, it is bothersome. I spent about an hour yesterday evening sitting on my porch visiting with the cats and although things still don't look quite right yet it was still very nice to sit in the fresh air. I think the cats missed me as did Phil my little guinea pig. Yep, I still feel that little devil but I'm a fighter with lots of years fighting against that one. Thank you again for the well wishes which are much appreciated!! Glad you and the family got through it alright too!! 💞

That's funny because I too smell strange smells from time to time. One of these smells just like rotten wood, I couldn't identify the others 🤔

We lost our sense of smell a couple of days after our first positive Covid test.

It's good that you see it positive and fight. Wishing you all the best 😊

And that is extremely interesting that you say that because the smell I smell (to me) seems to be of a laminate flooring chemical smell or at least that is the closest thing that I can relate it to so also wood related. Not super horrible but bothersome since I relate it to covid now. Thanks again @johannpiber!! 💞

This virus is a strange thing anyway, but that wood smell is weird 😏

Nevertheless, I'm glad that we have been lucky - let's take more care in future and hope this nightmare will be over one soon day.
