⇒ Ya sabemos que el entretenimiento es esa actividad que realizamos en nuestro tiempo libre, para distraernos o divertirnos. Simplemente es la manera de evitar el aburrimiento, y también alejarse un poco de las preocupaciones. Los ejemplos más comunes son, nada más y nada menos que; leer o jugar. El detalle es que la humanidad siempre ha desarrollo diferentes formas de «entretenerse», algunas consideradas como “raras” u otra cosa. Escribir este post también puede considerarse entretenimiento, ya sea para mí o para ustedes que lo leen.
Entonces, todo lo relacionado al entretenimiento forma parte de la amplia familia del ocio; un sector destacado en la actividad económica. Están los parques (temáticos también), industria de cine y series, música, los videojuegos y el deporte, etcétera. Por supuesto, mejor entretenamiento requiere dinerito...
🔎: Por cierto, en las tres funciones clásicas de los medios de comunicación se encuentra el entretenimiento, o sea, “formar, informar y entretener”.
⇒ We already know that entertainment is that activity that we do in our free time, to distract or amuse ourselves. It is simply the way to avoid boredom, and also get away a little bit from worries. The most common examples are, nothing more and nothing less than; reading or playing. The detail is that mankind has always developed different ways to "entertain" itself, some considered as "weird" or something else. Writing this post can also be considered entertainment, either for me or for you who read it.
So, everything related to entertainment is part of the broad family of leisure; a prominent sector in economic activity. There are the parks (theme parks too), movie and series industry, music, video games and sports, and so on. Of course, better entertainment requires money....
🔎: By the way, the three classic functions of the media include entertainment, that is, "to educate, inform and entertain".
#1 In Spanish, the term "entertainment" is of Latin origin, although it came into use in Europe in the late XV-15th. It was treated as the financial action of diverting the goods of others for one's own benefit, but eventually came to mean "diverting attention". Of course, this became associated with the idea of pleasure and leisure, a nice change indeed...
📜Un poco de historia: en la edad antigua (Grecia específicamente), un entretenimiento era la narración de historias. Además por diferentes rituales se creó el teatro griego, los juegos y el combate de gladiadores.
En la edad media el entretenimiento incluía diferentes contactos físicos o posibles artes marciales, que se regularon con torneos. El carnaval funcionaba con una distracción para cualquier clase social.
En la edad moderna ya había más variedad (aunque la verdad siempre hay algo), como obras que tenían que ver con arte, música y teatro. E igualmente, nunca faltaban los festejos y otras cosas como la cacería. Al pasar unos siglos se empezaron a emprender viajes de placer y también surgieron muchas tiendas de bebidas para socializar, algo tipo: café, té y más.
Ahora viene una edad un poco más «emocionante», la edad contemporánea. Debido aumento de alfabetización, el entretenimiento de la lectura se volvió muuuy popular, tanto de periódicos como de novelas, al igual que muchos espectáculos (solo saber leer abre las puertas a muchas cosas).
Y bueno pues, ya actualmente existen infinidad de cosas en que las personas pueden dedicar su tiempo libre, sea una interés común o no, puede entretenerse un rato.
📜A little bit of history: in ancient times (Greece specifically), one entertainment was storytelling. Also for different rituals Greek theater, games and gladiatorial combat were created.
In the Middle Ages entertainment included differents physicals contacts or possible martial arts, were regulated with tournaments. The carnival functioned as a distraction for any social class.
In the modern age there was already more variety (although the truth is there is always something), such as works that had to do with art, music and theater. And likewise, there was never a lack of festivities and other things such as hunting. After a few centuries, people started to go on pleasure trips and also many stores of drinks for socializing arose, something like: coffee, tea and more.
Now comes a slightly more "exciting" age, the contemporary age. Due to increased literacy, the entertainment of reading became very popular, both newspapers and novels, as well as many shows.
And well, nowadays there are plenty of things that people can spend their free time on, whether it is a common interest or not, they can entertain themselves for a while.
#2 In North Korea, a person was sentenced to death for smuggling and selling the "Squid Game" series. While a student buyer got life imprisonment. With that we note that watching illegal stuff in different countries can be more problematic than it seems.
¡Ahora es el momento de ver un poco de las industrias del entretenimiento! — Now it's time to look at some of the entertainment industries!
⚽️Deportes: Una industria muy, pero muy famosa. Con una increíble y amplia variedad. ¡Al menos una vez viste un partido o algo relacionado al deporte!
Para profundizar, pues el deporte es esa actividad normalmente competitiva, en la cual te irá mucho mejor, si mejoras tu condición física (algo fundamental de hecho). Con todo esto se crearon diferentes juegos y pues las personas disfrutan de verlo, por algo es muy conocido.
⚽️Sports: A very, very famous industry. With an incredible and wide variety - at least once you saw a game or something related to sports!
To go deeper, because sport is that usually competitive activity, in which you will do much better, if you improve your physical condition (something fundamental in fact). With all this, different games were created and people enjoy watching it, that's why it is well known.
#3 Usain Bolt, besides being recognized as the fastest person in the world, also won the IAAF athlete of the year award 6 times. He reached the speed of 44 Km/h.
El deporte más famoso es Fútbol, por algo desde el año 1930 y cada 4 años se realiza el mundial de fútbol (¡recuerda que hay uno programado para este año!). Por cierto, el futbolista Pelé fue reconocido por el Comité Olímpico Internacional como «mejor deportista del siglo XX» (curiosamente nací el mismo día que Pelé jaja).
Por mi parte no es que sea muy fanático de los deportes, sin embargo, elegiría sin duda alguna al fútbol como favorito. Es el que me veo más entretenido desde mi punto de vista. Otra cosa o algo atractivo que veo sobre eventos deportivos, son los famosos “Juegos olímpicos”, ¡en eso sí se encuentran muchos deportes!
The most famous sport is Soccer, for something since 1930 and every 4 years there is a World Cup (remember that there is one scheduled for this year!). By the way, the soccer player Pelé was recognized by the International Olympic Committee as "best sportsman of the XX century" (curiously I was born the same day as Pelé haha).
I'm not a big sports fan, but I would definitely choose soccer as my favorite. It is the one I find the most entertaining from my point of view. Another thing or something attractive that I see about sporting events is the famous "Olympic Games", where you can find a lot of sports!
🎧Música: ¿En el anterior dije que había gran variedad, no? ¡Pues en este también!, después de todo para eso está la teoría de la variedad (teoría no fundamentada, simplemente se me ocurrió eso).
Al igual que cada forma de entretenimiento tiene su toque, la música se caracteriza por provocar placer a su oyente. En donde se pueden tener diferentes sentimientos, emociones y pensamientos. Eso también es aplicable para las personas que hacen música por supuesto.
Como dije al principio, tiene una amplia variedad, y quizá con eso piensen en los “géneros” que existen etc, pero no hay que olvidar que a través de la historia también se ven las diferentes culturas relacionadas a la música, así que es algo más allá de esos géneros.
🔎: Varias personas afirman que la música tiene beneficios que pueden llegar a nivel psicológico y neurológico, pues promueve un mejor rendimiento cerebral.

Just as every form of entertainment has its touch, music is characterized by provoking pleasure to its listener. Where you can have different feelings, emotions and thoughts. That also applies to people who make music of course.
As I said at the beginning, it has a wide variety, and maybe with that you think of the "genres" that exist etc, but don't forget that through history you also see the different cultures related to music, so it's something beyond those genres.
🔎: Several people claim that music has benefits that can reach a psychological and neurological level, as it promotes better brain performance.
#4 They say that the song "Gloomy Sunday" is the suicide song for causing more than a hundred suicides. Specifically, Billie Holiday's version was the one that made this song to be known as "the Hungarian suicide song".
En mi caso podría escuchar cualquier género, porque siento que si te gusta la canción no hay ningún problema. Por supuesto, generalmente hay unos favoritos y los consideremos como los mejores.
In my case I could listen to any genre, because I feel that if you like the song there is no problem. Of course, there are usually a few favorites and we consider them to be the best.
🎞 Películas (también aplicable para series etc): Todo los sentimientos en un solo lugar, pues sí. Los podrás encontrar aquí también, al igual que la variedad. Es la magia del entretenimiento claramente.
Desde documentales hasta de guerra, ya sea adaptadas de libro o no, siempre es muy bueno disfrutar de una película o serie. Algunas pueden enseñar cosas fácil de entender mientras entretienen, así que es increíble cuando se torna complicado.
De todo esto existe una historia tan larga como las demás, pero el solo hecho de la realización y proyección de imágenes en movimiento, se convirtió en una fuente de ganancias casi tan pronto como se inventó el proceso. ¿A quién no le parece atractiva una película?
🔎: “Avatar” es la película con mayor recaudación de la historia, con una ganancia de 2.847.246.203 USD (dólares). Dicha película salió en el año 2009.
🎞 Movies (also applicable for series etc): All the feelings in one place, yes. You'll be able to find them here too, as well as variety. It's the magic of entertainment clearly.
From documentaries to war, whether adapted from book or not, it's always great to enjoy a movie or series. Some can teach things that are easy to understand while entertaining, so it's amazing when it gets complicated.
There's as long a history of all this as any, but the very act of making and projecting moving images became a source of profit almost as soon as the process was invented. Who doesn't find a movie appealing?

#5 In the scene of the spider biting Peter Parker, it was a Steatoda spider and not a black widow as indicated in the comic. They have a certain resemblance, and the interesting thing is that the spider was painted blue and red.
Desde hace un tiempo existe algo que marca a las películas, y eso es: IMDb (Internet Movie Database – Base de datos de películas en Internet) esto nos muestra que tan bien está calificadas muchas cosas en realidad, así que no son solo películas... podemos decir que eso sería una guía para ver una película, serie o programa, pero eso no quita el hecho de algo mencionado anteriormente “cualquiera puede ser disfrutable (lo pueden saber todos)”. A pesar de Avatar ser la película con mayor recaudación, su calificación en IMDb es 7,8 de 10.
For some time now there has been something that marks movies, and that is: IMDb (Internet Movie Database) this shows us how well many things are actually rated, so they are not just movies... we can say that would be a guide to watch a movie, series or program, but that does not take away the fact of something mentioned above "anyone can be enjoyable (they can all know that)". Despite Avatar being the highest grossing movie, its rating on IMDb is 7.8 out of 10.
🎮 Videojuegos: Activa tu cerebro y gana la partida, ¡vamos! pero cuidado con el sedentarismo...
Así es, el entretenimiento es el Dios de la variedad, y el que diga que no pues... continuará. Un videojuego es simplemente un juego electrónico en el que una o más personas interactúan por medio de un controlador y claramente, un dispositivo que muestre imágenes de “video”.
Los videojuegos nos pueden traer muchas experiencias y un gran entretenimiento cómo es en mi caso, pero hace poco la OMS considero que la adicción a ellos es un trastorno... eso nos dice de vuelta la frase de: wu ji bi fan («mucho de algo no es bueno», frase que salió en la más nueva de Karate Kid).
Los juegos que son más famosos son sin duda los de acción y aventura (en especial de mundo abierto), eso lo sabemos más si hemos jugado algo de la franquicia GTA. Por cierto, los juegos con más ventas son Minecraft y GTA V.
🔎: Algo que ha estado en tendencia en la industria de videojuegos actualmente, es la compra de Activision por parte de Microsoft.
🎮 Video games: Activate your brain and win the game, come on! but beware of sedentary lifestyles...
That's right, entertainment is the God of variety, and whoever says no ... will continue. A video game is simply an electronic game in which one or more people interact by means of a controller and clearly, a device that displays "video" images.
Video games can bring us many experiences and great entertainment as it is in my case, but recently the WHO considered that addiction to them is a disorder ... that tells us back the phrase: wu ji bi fan ("too much of something is not good", phrase that came out in the newest Karate Kid).
The games that are most famous are undoubtedly the action and adventure games (especially open world), we know that more if we have played some of the GTA franchise. By the way, the games with the highest sales are Minecraft and GTA V.
🔎: Something that has been trending in the video game industry currently, is the purchase of Activision by Microsoft.
#6 In the "infinite survival" mode of Plants vs. Zombies (O vs.) it is believed that the only way to win is when almost 7 billion zombies come out, something very close to the world population of its launch year... (2009).
En la industria de los videojuegos varios han estado en contra de los juegos “Play to Earn (juega para ganar)”, porque afirman que con dichos juegos ya se pierde la gracia, el entretenimiento como tal. En parte podrían tener razón, pero realmente depende, porque además de las personas que dicen “si no me pagas, no juego más”, también existen los que aunque sea un poco lo disfrutan. Otra cosa por la que están pendiente de esos juegos debido a las “perdidas” que les trae eso según dicen.
Algunos videojuegos que recomiendo (PS2 y Android): Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja 4, Minecraft, Geometry Dash, Clash of Clans y Genshin Impact (el último me gustaría jugarlo, pero lo recomiendo igualmente porque se ve que vale la pena).
In the video game industry several people have been against "Play to Earn" games, because they claim that with such games the fun, the entertainment as such, is lost. In part they could be right, but it really depends, because besides the people who say "if you don't pay me, I don't play anymore", there are also those who enjoy it even a little bit. Another thing why they are pending of those games because of the "losses" they say that brings them.

🍥 Animación y sus aliados: Un mundo nuevo se abre, no vayas a cerrar tus ojos...
La animación es simplemente ese proceso que da la sensación de movimiento a imágenes, dibujos u otro tipo de objetos inanimados (como las películas con stop motion de plastilina). Entre las animaciones más famosas están las de Disney y las de estudios japoneses (hablaré más de la segunda).
En la animación japonesa (llamada anime), se caracteriza por prácticamente siempre estar basada en novelas ligeras (novela con una escritura más simple japonesa) y cómics japoneses (manga). Además, siempre trata de ser más realista en diferentes aspectos (a pesar de ser 2D), simplemente con mayor detalle en cosas como desarrollo de personajes etc, no como en las caricaturas que son más de comedia. Claro, no importa que animación sea, siempre buscará darle ese “toque” que lo haga llegar a más.
Los animes al ser basados casi siempre en mangas o novelas, suelen tener la fama de ellos e incluso dichos animes se puede hacer por promoción a esos mismos. Cuando pasa lo de animes por promoción a un manga o novela puede afectar a una segunda temporada o secuela (o sea, no habrá) y la adaptación puede ser muy mala (no siguen la historia original por cambiar muchas cosas). También puede haber adaptaciones de juegos y novela visuales (prácticamente juegos).
🔎: La serie estilo anime más cara es “Afro Samurai” porque de los 5 episodios que tiene, cada uno costó poco más de 1 millón de dólares. Ese anime se encuentra en audio inglés y su actor de voz es "Samuel L. Jackson". Mientras que la serie de manga más vendidas es One Piece (novela ligera mundialmente: Sword Art Online).
🍥 Animation and its allies: A new world is opening up, don't close your eyes...
Animation is simply that process that gives the sensation of movement to images, drawings or other types of inanimate objects (such as plasticine stop motion movies). Among the most famous animations are those of Disney and those of Japanese studios (I will talk more about the second one).
In Japanese animation (called anime), it is characterized by practically always being based on light novels (novels with a simpler Japanese writing) and Japanese comics (manga). Also, it always tries to be more realistic in different aspects (despite being 2D), simply with more detail in things like character development etc, unlike cartoons which are more comedy. Of course, no matter what animation it is, it will always try to give it that "touch" that makes it reach more.
Anime, being almost always based on manga or novels, usually have the fame of them and even those anime can be made for promotion. When it happens to anime for promotion to a manga or novel can affect a second season or sequel (that is, there will not be) and the adaptation can be very bad (do not follow the original story by changing many things). There may also be adaptations of games and visual novels (practically games).
🔎: The most expensive anime style series is "Afro Samurai" because of the 5 episodes it has, each one cost a little more than 1 million dollars. That anime is in English audio and its voice actor is "Samuel L. Jackson". While the best-selling manga series is One Piece (light novel worldwide: Sword Art Online).
#7 Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Train is Japan's highest grossing film, grossing approximately ¥39,038,746,700 (something close to $400M USD). The said film was released in 2020 and is ranked 241st in the top 250 movies on IMDb.
Aunque para muchos es considerado como entretenimiento para “niños”, este tipo de animación abarca cualquier cosa, estilo las películas. Eso puede incluir tramas un tanto complejas, historias sangrientas e incluso obscenas. Por supuesto, eso depende de la historia en que se base o si deciden hacerla directamente así (original).
En esta parte del post quizá te parezca un poco más larga, pero eso es porque en sí mi blog está más centrado en este tipo de entretenimiento xd. De igual manera no lo alargare más porque como todo lo anterior, posee muchaaa historia y muchos temas que tratar (eso incluye proceso de animación y mucho más).
Series animes que recomiendo: Dr. STONE, Darwin's Game y Kimetsu no Yaiba. Tengo muchas que recomendar, pero eso está bien por ahora.
🔎: Por cierto, los actores de doblajes en Japón (Seiyū's) deben cuidar muy bien de su imagen personal y vida privada, ya que hay cosas que te pueden dejar prácticamente sin trabajo. El ejemplo está en que un seiyuu le fue infiel a su esposa, lo que provocó que fuera despedido de todos sus trabajos y grupos porque también era cantante. Supongo que era algo que se merecía, sin embargo es muy exagerado cuando se trata de ”todos”.
Although considered by many to be "children's" entertainment, this type of animation encompasses anything, movie style. That can include somewhat complex plots, gory and even obscene stories. Of course, that depends on the story it is based on or if they decide to make it directly like that (original).
This part of the post may seem a bit longer, but that's because my blog is more focused on this kind of entertainment xd. Anyway, I won't make it longer because like everything before, it has a lot of history and many topics to deal with (that includes animation process and much more).
Anime series I recommend: Dr. STONE, Darwin's Game and Kimetsu no Yaiba. I have a lot to recommend, but that's good for now.
🔎: By the way, dubbing actors in Japan (Seiyū's) must take very good care of their personal image and private life, as there are things that can leave you practically out of a job. The example is when a seiyuu was unfaithful to his wife, which caused him to be fired from all his jobs and groups because he was also a singer. I guess it was something he deserved, however it's very exaggerated when it comes to everyone.

En resumidas cuentas (y aunque suene cliché), cualquier tipo de entretenimiento es disfrutable, y cada uno tiene lo suyo, porque no solo las personas que ven o escuchan dicho entretenimiento son atraídas por el, sino que también las personas que hacen ese entretenimiento posible. Es una industria que crece y sin duda vale la pena, es muy increíble cuando te quedas absorto en uno de esos entretenimientos, y más, cuando aprendes de ellos (como dice la frase).

In short (and although it sounds cliché), any kind of entertainment is enjoyable, and each one has its own, because not only the people who watch or listen to that entertainment are attracted by it, but also the people who make that entertainment possible. It's a growing industry and it's certainly worth it, it's very amazing when you get engrossed in one of those entertainments, and more, when you learn from them (as the phrase goes).
