Hola compañeros de la comunidad de Hive,estoy nuevamente con ustedes para explicarle paso a paso, como se realiza en Ocumare de la Costa de Oro la tradicional fiesta en honor a San Juan Bautista.En esa costa aragueña es una de las celebraciones de mayor relevancia en la zona, los que acuden a la misma se deleitan con el colorido de las banderas,los sangueos y golpes de cumacos , además de recorrer las calles en una bailanta casi sin fin, preguntándole a Juan Bautista ¿Pa dónde Tú vas?
El día 22 de junio:personas de la Cofradía de San Juan Bautista de la comunidad de"El Playón", simulan un robo de la estatua del San Juan que pertenece al pueblo de Ocumare y se lo llevan cuidadosamente a una casa previamente acondicionada con su respectivo altar, donde colocan al santo,para ser velado toda la noche de ese día, con cantos de sirenas y ruedas de tambor, acompañadas de bebidas espirituosas.
El día 23 de junio: muy temprano a eso de las 6 ó 7 de la mañana,San Juan es conducido por los lugareños del Playón hasta un lugar llamado la Boca, dónde es embarcado junto a un grupo de personas en varias lanchas,llevando tambores para luego emprender el recorrido por el mar en busca de otros San Juanes de zonas aledañas y ser embarcados en las diferentes lanchas,este paseo abarca Ocumare,Cata,Cuyagua,es decir, toda la zona costera de Aragua hasta Puerto Cabello , también van con él otros San Juanes que en el momento del embarque se encuentren allí (Cumboto,La Trilla,Aponte,Maracay,entre otros).
Luego a las 3:00pm, después de haber recorrido las costas aragueñasy carabobeñas,comienzan a desembarcar los San Juanes en la Boca,para ser llevados a sus lugares de origen.El San Juan mayor, que así es llamado el de Ocumare por su trayectoria en el tiempo,es desembarcado de último.Se le cambia el vestuario en una vivienda asignada para tal fin, después hace un recorrido desde allí,pasa por la capilla del lugar,luego es llevado a dar las gracias al Playón en la casa donde fue velado la noche anterior y después es conducido al pueblo de Ocumare,dónde es recibido por los lugareños con un canto de sangüeo específico (el Ave María)pasa por la puerta de la iglesia precedido por la capitana de San Juan,la cual conduce el sangüeo con la bandera mayor y seguido por las mariposas con sus respectivas banderas y el resto de las personas seguidoras del evento las cuales bailan al ritmo del sangüeo hasta llegar a la casa de Juan Bautista.
El día 24: después de pasar la noche anterior entre cantos de sirenas y golpes de tambor, los fanáticos de ese ritual folklórico, van en busca de las hermanas de San Juan con los tambores bajo un canto llamado la:"La Huerfanita", conduciendo el sangüeo hasta el río más cercano para bañarse en el mismo debido que desde las doce de la noche el agua está bendita y purifica el alma.
A las 8:00am,se realizan actos religiosos (misas) en la iglesia del pueblo con la imagen de San Juan y los seguidores, al terminar la misa, Juan Bautista recorre las calles y casas que ofrecen promesas al santo, al son de tambores,al ritmo de sangueos, golpes y cantos de sirenas.Este recorrido culmina a la media noche o quizás al amanecer, incluso puede continuar el día siguiente.
