Hey guys, I’m Kelvin. I’m really excited to be on Hive. Lately, I've been on a journey of self-discovery. When I got to hear about Hive a few days back, I really wanted to try the platform out. Especially knowing that a majority of the former authors had moved over.
I remember my first time on Steem, the whole idea sounded so complicated, so different. I was so new to crypto, and everything seemed so fascinating. I was young, and working hard towards my goal of becoming an engineer. I had a lot of dreams. I’ve grown a little taller, I’m 6ft7 now. I would love to become a better version of myself and I’m walking towards that path.
As a young man, there are always those underlying desires. For example, when I was younger, I wanted to become an electrical engineer, but guess what? I’m a geologist now. Such career change seemed difficult at first, but I’m already getting to love it.
In my free time, I like to divulge into the tech sphere. I like to read about latest technologies, smart tweaks, app development, and so on. As a result of the global pandemic, I’ve had more time to spend reading and learning. Just recently, I recovered my old XDA account.
Just in case you don’t know about XDA, it is an acronym for Xtreme Developers of Android. It’s a forum where I meet minds similar to mine, a place where tech enthusiasts meet and discuss challenges we are having, and find ways to make our lives easier.
I’m a smartphone person, so I always like to get my hands on the latest smartphones. Sometimes, new phones come with new trouble. That is one reason I like XDA.
All I have to do is simply search for the phone name. I usually find users with similar troubles with their phones. There are even tools to customize a phone to a specific user preference.
Four months ago, I got a new phone. The phone came with a locked boot loader, so it makes it difficult for me to root the phone. And without rooting, I wouldn’t be able to do much modifications to suit my taste. So, I tried to use some tools I found on XDA. But then, my trouble began. I lost all of my phone data. In as much I like the platform, like everything in life, it has its drawbacks.
Sometimes XDA helps you make your phone better, other times it makes it worse. Some users in the platform make suggestions that they have not carried out themselves, and that doesn’t end so well. I think if everyone cross-check tutorials properly before posting them the processes wouldn’t end so badly. I’ve followed tutorials that made my phone slower and even result in battery drain.
I also like to play around the net when I am bored. Other times, I do research on interesting topics. Recently, after spending a couple of hours surfing the net, I came across an article that proved helpful. It was on how I can delete google apps without rooting my phone. Doing that helped to improve my battery life, my privacy and enhance my device performance.
I’d love to be honest with you, I find it difficult to write sometimes. I’ve been postponing this introduction post for some days. It feels like magic how a page is blank for a while, and then suddenly the words start pouring. It is amazing.
I’m trying to get better at my writing, and I’m glad I have friends and family members that are professional writers. Since everyone at are home as a result of the lock down in most cities, I would be spending time to learn more from my siblings. Oh, I’m already learning. I’m here today, and I’m hoping for the best.
I’ve been getting words of encouragement, such as these “write what you love” “when you do what you love, it’s no longer called a work but a hobby.”
My Plan for Hive
Since I’m here already, it’s good I share my plans with the Hive community. I’m going to be blogging about tech related stuffs, and because that’s what I love. Also, I know there are people out there that may benefit from what I write. I can see that the greatest thing about Hive is its intellectual currency, and I’d love to contribute my bits.
I also intend to invest my time and funds in the community, for I can see that the platform have a promising prospect. With every article I write, you will be getting to know me better. That is because my personality would be embedded into every word.
It’s good to be here.
I hope to enjoy my stay here and thanks for stopping by, have a nice day. Stay safe.
