'Mass adoption' and 'Promotion'. Well, Hive can be said to have gone slightly halfway in mass adoption reason because it forked out of Steem which was already well known and accepted by majority of the masses. But one reason why I wouldn't rate Hive above a 30% mass adoption is because not everyone from Steem embraced the birth of Hive despite it mass awareness.
What does it require, and when can Hive be certified to have achieved Mass adaption?
Just as it implies to cryptocurrency in general, Hive would only be said to have achieved Mass adoption when it doesn't just remain an ordinary point of discussion but rather; embraced by everyone including the government, becomes easily accessible to everyone to either trade or invest in, business and service are willing to accept Hive as a payment method, no distinction in Fiat and Hive, banks willing to accept Hive as a means of exchange, and also investors beginning to see Hive as means of investment, and many more attached factors. But if Hive can actually achieve these few mentioned, then it has already made it way into getting fully mass adopted.
Mass adoption for crypto and blockchain is for sure a thing that doesn't tends to occurs within its first few years of existence. Again, that will depend on how vast the news is a spread across to the masses. That drives me to 'Promotion'
Talking about Promotion...
Promotion is another means to quickly get a product/project known and seen by the masses. Hive in my point of view is yet to experience any major form of promotion. I'm saying this based on my experience with Steem's promotion. I'm a fan of promoting product/project, most especially blockchain projects. I could remember back then on Steem my role for approximately a year was promoting Steem. Well, I believe this is due to the era in which Hive was birth. The world is presently experiencing a live threatening disease, and everyone is all about surviving first before putting any other thing into consideration.
In my opinion the pandemic has been one major hindrance why we haven't gotten a massive Hive promotion yet. Although there have been some teams and groups I'm aware of who have been playing a great role in promoting Hive on the social media sphere, most especially on twitter. But a question I ask myself is Will Hive get a massive promotion as Steem got? Well, this shouldn't be a debate, and what we should remember is that it took Steem some couple of months also, if not approximately a year before it existence got to be known by the masses. But to be sincere Steem got a mind blowing promotion from my experience and other individuals experience I known about. I could also remember I and my team going from state to state here in Nigeria hosting Steem meet up and promotion. But how eager are individuals to promote Hive in their communities presently? In regards to individual's zeal, I would say individuals are still very much motivated to promote hive from what I've observed in the past few months, but not yet on a large scale.
How soon will these (Mass Adoption/Promotion) happen?
I also can't speculate a specific time Hive will take in attaining mass adoption. But of certainty, Hive is growing rapidly fast and I'm impressed with it's present success. It's no strange news that cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum which are the world's largest cryptocurrency have attained mass adoption. It took them years to attain mass adoption, and Hive has just merely began it journey into greatness. If Hive can get a mass promotion and becomes the most influential blockchain talked about within the next couple of years, then I believe mass adoption will find it way in thereafter, with Hive not necessarily having to go through the route and years taken by the world's largest cryptocurrencies to attain mass adoption.
