Last week I joined my Oma to celebrate her 97th birthday. Her birthstone is an Amethyst and my aunt decorated the table wth purple flowers and serviettes.
She was in an amazingly cheerful mood and we all stood up to greet her as she was wheeled up to the table by her caregiver and sang Happy Birthday to her.
She had her amethyst ring on and a lovely matching purple nail varnish. Very impressed with her lovely hands at her age.

My aunt really went to town with a great spread of croissants, cheese, chocolate cake and apple danishes. There was also a variety of teas, coffees and juices.
The family had a great time and my grandmother laughed a lot so we all were blessed by being with her.

It's my birthday coming up this weekend so we'll be taking my oma to a shopping centre where she can enjoy a bit of people watching whilst celebrating my birthday.

What a beautiful family you are, I love the countless details you have had with your grandmother, her hands and the color of her nails are incredibly beautiful....she undoubtedly enjoyed it a lot...such human warmth is always appreciated and even more so when you are older and perhaps we believe that the family does not need us.
Congratulations to your grandmother, and may she turn 100 and more...at least with all that family love she deserves them.
