Today I want to share with you, some rich Venezuelan arepas made of rice with precooked cornmeal. It has become common to make arepas in different ways (auyama, banana, ocumo, among others). Since, as good Venezuelans, we like to experiment in the kitchen, I hope you enjoy this recipe.
- Una taza de arroz.
- Una taza de harina de maíz precocida.
- Sal al gusto.
- A cup of rice.
- One cup of pre-cooked cornmeal.
- Salt to taste.

Pour one cup of rice into a pot, with two cups of water and salt to taste. Cook it until it is halfway done. Then let it rest for 10 minutes.

When the rice is completely cold it is placed in a mill, to be processed to obtain a spongy mass. Then we take a container to place the dough obtained, adding the cup of pre-cooked corn flour, salt to taste and enough water. To be mixed until a final homogeneous dough is obtained.

Then the dough is divided in equal parts, to mold it in a circular way to achieve the arepas.

Finally, the arepas are placed on a low temperature plate. Approximately 15 minutes turning them over constantly.

It should be noted that this food is nutritious in vitamin A, C and B6. It can also be filled with margarine, cheese, fish, chicken or any other food.
