Day 6 : What are you afraid of? 30 days writing challenge

in GEMS4 years ago

I completed 5 days from this challenge. I did not know it would really stick, but I suppose seeing it in a smaller numbers help. Now I am reaching the question number 6 " What are you afraid of?"

The last two questions were more intimate and it was almost peeling a lot of layers in my life. However, I am quite glad those helped me understand myself more and reminded me of why I am this person today. The next question is as intimate as the other two. Talking about fear is not easy as it requires some level of vulnerabilities. But I'll try my best to mention one of the things I am afraid of.

What are you afraid of?

Most probably answered spider, snake, death, human interaction, whatever.

I was born quite fearless and I seemed to have nothing to be afraid of. I enjoyed various sports and other stuff, which have caused me endless injuries, experienced things I probably shouldn't as a kid, and many more. However, since my major accident, I learned what I feared the most, forgetting myself all over again.

Forgetting myself is one of the thing I am most afraid of. I think myself as part of memories, experiences, and knowledge I have built over the years of my life. However, when it's gone, I am gone too. I experienced this when I forgot huge chunk of memories, experiences and knowledge from my past. I struggled to accept that some things are different when I revived back to life. Even today, I still struggle to understand that the old me is no more, there is only new me who is ready to build memories from ground zero. So, I am genuinely scared if I would forget myself again including what makes me a person, where I come from, why I do this journey and why I choose this path.

If you want to join this 30 Days blogging with me, feel free to do so ! I'd be happy to have other hivers doing this with me.
