Hello hive blog community,. How ar you every all.
The Bengali language movement has a significant impact on the cultural life of Bengalis. This movement has played a significant role in creating a mentality among the Bengalis to celebrate different occasions of Bengali language and work for the development of the language. In Bangladesh, February 21 is celebrated as Mother Language Day or Martyr's Day, as well as a state holiday. The month of February is also celebrated in various ways, including the month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair, better known as Ekushey Book Fair. The Ekushey Padak, one of the major state civil medals of Bangladesh, was also announced this month in honor of the sacrifices made by those who sacrificed their lives in the language movement. Various patriotic songs, plays, poems and films have been written about the events and consciousness of Ekushey to convey the emotions of Ekushey to the people. Notable among them is the song written by Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury and composed by Altaf Mahmud, painted in my brother's blood. Since the language movement of 1952, the influence of the language movement has been felt in different fields of Bengali literature from different points of view. Among the compositions are the play Kabar written by the martyred intellectual Munir Chowdhury; Poet Shamsur Rahman's Poetry Alphabet, My Sad Alphabet and February 1979; Zaheer Raihan's novel Ekushey February; The cry of the famous fiction writer Shawkat OsmanNotable.

Besides, the film directed by Zaheer Raihan is based on the language movement.

A new Shaheed Minar was built in 1954 in memory of the victims, two years after the first Shaheed Minar was demolished. In 1956, with the help of the United Front government, the construction of a large scale Shaheed Minar was started. The architects of the new Shaheed Minar were Hamidur Rahman and Novera Ahmed. This large scale facility was constructed on the premises of Dhaka Medical College Hostel. The five pillars arranged in a semi-circle on the main altar indicate that the mother was standing with her martyred children. Due to the military rule of 1958, the progress of the construction work of the facility was somewhat hampered. Hasna Begum, mother of Abul Barkat, inaugurated the Shaheed Minar on 21 February 1983. It was demolished by Pakistani forces during the 1971 War of Independence. Later in 1973 the government of Bangladesh rebuilt it.

Apart from East Pakistan, there was a movement in the Indian state of Assam to give equal status to the Bengali language. On 19 May 1971, 11 Bengalis were martyred in a police firing at the Silchar railway station when they demanded recognition of Bengali as the state language. Later, Bengal became one of the three Bengali-speaking districts in Assam.
