Don't envy me for having the title of wife,
for sometimes I dress myself in intrigue and sleeplessness,
with a wounded heart, like a rose,
that blooms in gloom, but seeks longing.
Marriage, darling, is dance and sleeplessness,
a game of two on this vast stage,
and though at times the plot may seem a duel,
I always find in her arms a necessary love.
So don't envy me for carrying this title,
