The zapatico or slipper orchid belongs to the genus * Paphiopedilum *, they present the rarest flowers of this family (Orchidaceae). This exotic plant is native to Asiá, it is characterized for being of moderate size, stiff and korea-like leaves, with bright green or mottled green colors.
Its flowers are characterized by inflorescences of one or a few flowers, ** their lip is bag-shaped **, the dorsal sepal is large, the other two sepals are fused located behind the lip and the lateral petals are of various shapes.
La orquídea “zapatico o zapatilla” pertenece al género Paphiopedilum, presentan las flores más raras de esta familia (Orchidaceae). Esta planta exótica es originaria de Asiá, se caracteriza por ser de tamaño moderado, hojas tiesas y coreaceas, con colores verde brillante o verde moteado.

The zapatico orchid is made in 7 parts: leaf, bract (modified leaf that protects the flower), dorsal sepal, lateral petals, fused sepals, column and lip. We then begin to describe each of the parts.
