The Magical Trullis of Alberobello - Family Vacation with Kids in Italy

in GEMS12 days ago

Hello friends. Continuing our Italy vacation, we headed to another town located about 20 kilometers away. This town is called Alberobello, and I had seen it through a blogger on social media. They mentioned the very interesting houses called trullo there. We were very curious and wanted to see them for ourselves.

We arrived at the town. The parking lot was right next to the entrance and the fee was 6 Euros. Interestingly, we didn't see any other foreign license plates. It was just us. The weather was a bit cloudy, but it seemed like the sun would come out soon.

I want to talk about the trullo houses. These houses have unique pointed roofs and the roofs feature interesting symbols. Various figures such as stars, hearts and arrows are used. Alberobello is on the Unesco World Heritage List and it's quite an impressive place. People still live in these small houses. Some are large, others are small and some are used as stores. The number of tourists is quite high. It's similar to the crowd in Venice.

We began walking around and everything here is really geared towards tourists. We immediately bought a magnet from a Trullo house. There are also very cute piggy bank designs and buying one of these could be a nice souvenir.

While walking through the streets, you realize how beautiful the atmosphere is. On one hand, someone is playing live music and on the other, you're walking among these fairy-tale houses. This corner of Italy is worth visiting. Every place is picture-perfect and it's also possible to see the inside of these Trullo houses.

We continued taking photos and exploring. Further ahead, there was a church and an observation point, so we headed in that direction. We also came across hats hanging on the streets, which was quite an interesting decoration style.

On the last stop of our Italy trip, we rented a villa and we had a very spacious area to enjoy. We immediately began exploring the surroundings and it was a peaceful place.

Let me describe the interior of the villa. There is an open living area at the entrance. Depending on the weather, we could sit there and enjoy the view. Once inside, we were greeted by a small but fully equipped kitchen and a stylish seating area. We unpacked our things and by the way, my daughters had already started running around the house. There are also swings and play areas for kids, so they were really happy here.

The villa has several bedrooms. The house is decorated in a classic Italian style, with wooden details and a spacious interior. There’s a small but functional bathroom and outside, there’s even an outdoor shower. After going to the beach, we could easily shower here. And the house has a veranda and a wonderful terrace. It was very enjoyable to sit on the terrace and watch the sunset.

The surroundings of the villa were also beautiful. The garden has pear, olive and grape trees. The kids were running around and having fun in the garden, while we were enjoying the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The market was only a 5-minute drive away, which was very convenient.

Throughout this vacation, we collected many beautiful memories and photos from here. It was wonderful to spend time both by the sea and in this calm environment. Our days were very enjoyable.

On the day we arrived, we prepared dinner and the menu featured pasta from Italian cuisine. The temperature inside the house was very comfortable and we were relaxed thanks to the air conditioning. The kids playing outside were having a great time and we also spent time with them. For dinner, we made a simple salad and pasta and we enjoyed it with some prosecco.

We did some shopping at the market and bought some typical Italian products. We especially picked up delicious items like milk, cheese, olives and pasta. We also got some breakfast cereals for the kids and a toy. The drinking water here was a bit different because the city water isn’t suitable for drinking, so we were buying bottled water.

After dinner, we sat outside for a while and as the sun was setting, we reflected on how calm and peaceful the atmosphere was. This was the vacation setting I had dreamed of. We were now able to rest comfortably and enjoy this beautiful environment.

Thank you for reading. See you in new posts. Ciao.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. I understand it can be difficult to travel and I hope you get to visit Mérida soon 🤗
