An electric locomotive. That's an Sr1. It's Russian/Soviet made. It was manufactured in Novotšerkasski between 1973 and 1996. It's proven to be a reliable model. It's still in use both in freight and passenger traffic. Finland has the same railway gauge as Russia save for a later adjustment of a few millimeters in Finland. That's because the first railway in Finland were built in the 1850's during autonomy as part of the Russian Empire. It was between Helsinki and Hämeenlinna between Helsinki and Tampere.
