I took these shots along the way home from returning a van we used to transport a couple of sofas yesterday. This place was conveniently located. I love the long lens for railway shots. No need to go to any dangerous places.
It seems that vandals have targeted this wonderful old steam engine that has been parked on this side track for ages.
This shit may have been left by the vandals.
In that direction, the railway extends to the stadium which is a couple of hundred meters after that bridge. One train per year takes spectators to see the Salpausselkä Games to the stadium from Helsinki in early March.
Long lens photograph looks great down the tracks, old steam engine sad sitting on side tracks with nowhere to go.
Flowers are stunning growing wild between the shoulder and tracks taking one on a journey of exploration.

What's sad is that vandals have discovered the old steam engine. For the longest time, it was left alone. It's beautiful inside. The windows have been boarded up for less than two years.
I miss train travel, trains were our main way to travel anywhere. Most the running stock has been sold, some taken from South Africa to Scotland for museums.
Vandalism happens on a grand scale the few trains left rolling are for commuters to/from work, also frequently set alight, destruction is rife.
I like trains and train yards. There is a train museum near my house. It's a shame vandals had to ruin the nice engine. I don't care if they spraypaint tunnels, walls or even boring box cars and such...but a beautiful engine :(
Fortunately, I've taken dozens of pictures of that engine before it was vandalized.
They left some power tools? Did you get them :D
That stuff looked like broken crap.
