Greetings, dear friends! I trust you're all well. Today, I present another post, hoping it captures your interest enough for a read and, perhaps, an upvote.
I'm excited to share the cherished moments from the marriage of a dear childhood friend. The dates were set for September 17th and 18th earlier this year, following a challenging breakup with a seven-year-long girlfriend. Eventually, he found happiness in an arranged marriage with a beautiful relative. Having relinquished control over his love life, he left the decision to his parents.
As the days approached, we, his friends, were invited a day before the wedding to lend a hand with preparations and make it a memorable occasion. Working together, we ensured everything was set just right.
Groom sitting for the mehndi ceremony
Traditionally, the festivities kicked off with a mehendi ceremony, lasting the entire night before the big day. The groom's hands and feet were treated, and Mehdi was applied, followed by the customary wrapping of new currency notes around his finger. We joined in, using ₹500 notes, while relatives and neighbors documented the event.

On the subsequent day, the groom underwent various grooming rituals. In the afternoon, guests were treated to a special Kashmiri cuisine called Wazwan, with our responsibility being to ensure timely service.
Later in the evening, our friend left for the Nikah ceremony at the bride's house, 15 km away, with a select few friends accompanying him. The rest of us stayed behind, preparing for the couple's return.

Around 1:00 AM, our friend returned with his partner and accompanying guests. It was a poignant moment as they embarked on this new chapter of life.

We warmly welcomed them back home, ensuring all arranged food was served.
Later, I headed home for some rest, as I had work at the office the next day.
