Second post here! As you can see from my name, I really love writing guides, I mean COOL GUIDES. As a proud member of the Italian nation, I have decided to share with you a piece of furniture that you might not have in your house, but believe me,
You will definitely want to have after this guide.
I am talking about the BIDET. I know that outside is plenty of people making fun of us, claiming this little sink in completely useless, but it is an important part of a ritual that makes
"Italians the cleanest folk around the planet"
(source: myself).
But before a little bit of history:
Bidet, as you may know, is not an Italian word, but a French one. During the Renaissance, French prostitutes used to wash their “feminine parts” after a sexual intercourse. Bidet appeared in Italy almost one century after and nowadays it is in all bathrooms among our peninsula.
Reaching this point, we have a solid knowledge of the Bidet, but let’s keep going on this wonderful path!
THE BACK
Here is a look of the back of a bide. If you want to install it, you must be aware of the components.
Red circle: hot water pipe.
Blue circle: cold water pipe.
Black circle: exhaust pipe.
Orange circle: it helps to close the exhaust pipe. Very useful when you want to collect water or whatsoever.
THE SOAP
In addition, we use a specific soap with a very low PH in order to avoid irritations. Women are very into, you know, those parts ARE REALLY SENSITIVE. Here’s a picture of my soap, it is usually sold in 250ml or 500ml bottles and various fragrances are in commerce. But you can use normal soap. It is your choice.
What about toilet paper? We use it, but way less than the average.
THE FRONT
Here is how it is, a little sink, a faucet releasing water a hole in which the water comes in and another hole called “troppo pieno” (I did not find any valid translation) it avoids water overfills the bidet. EASY PEASY. From now on the **MAGIC STARTS **but it is the moment in which
Italians struggle due to gender and routines.
Males usually sit in this position with the back in front of the wall, which is really useful if you want to wash just one part, but it is really… Inconvenient.
(DO NOT THINK THAT SOAP AND WATER WILL DO ALL THE MAGIC, YOU NEED TO USE ELBOW OIL!)
On the other hand, if you want to reach a major cleaning rate, I really recommend you this way because you can clean Part A and part B at the same time. Remember: first PP, or vagy and then… Well I hope you know that.
