Anger is not always unhealthy!

in GEMS4 years ago

We need to learn and accept each and every emotion to go ahead in life in a healthy way. Anger is one of the emotions, which we always treat negatively and try to avoid it. And maybe this act sometimes makes it worse.

Let me explain.

We have to understand that, anger is a way to express our raw emotions. And sometimes in certain situations, there's no other way to express it better than anger. Does that mean, we need to feel guilty about this specific emotion? No.

We can always choose to be wise while showing anger. For me, when it comes to grief or when we feel fragile and doesn't know how to manage our emotions, it's okay to let the emotion explode. You know, it is better than holding it back. You may argue with me. But think about how worse it could be if we fail to express anger. It will bring depression, frustration, negatively in life and will disconnect us with life.

But yeah, it's better to learn how to manage anger and what causes us to be angry. That's another issue. What I'm trying to say is, we should not hide or reflow this basic emotion thinking it's unhealthy. Rather it helps to cope with grief and catch up better with life afterward. So don't hold back. Show your anger if necessary but maintain your level.

There's no other option to learn and practice managing anger. So master on managing your anger but don't hold back.

I think the worst thing you can do about anger is try to suppress it, to bury it behind a fake smile. However I think it's very rare that anger actually accomplishes anything beneficial - in fact, becoming angry will often make your problems worse. Even when you are in the right, if you get angry with someone, you will usually lose the argument. For me, I try to deal with problems before they make me angry: anticipate problems in the future, and deal with them now.
