In the video below, he's asked how one can find peace while living in a society and he explains how to achieve inner and outer balance by having a clear mind.
Inner Peace
Nothing is permanent, embrace change.
The faster that you are able to adapt yourself to change, the less problems you will have.
The more you hang on to the idea that something should be and stay like it is, the more problems you will have.
Sticking to a fixed idea is not a concept of nature.
The Four Noble Truths
"I teach suffering, its origin, cessation and path. That's all I teach", declared the Buddha 2500 years ago.
The Four Noble Truths contain the essence of the Buddha's teachings.
- The truth of suffering (Dukkha)
- The truth of the origin of suffering (Samudāya)
- The truth of the cessation of suffering (Nirodha)
- The truth of the path to the cessation of suffering (Magga)
In the first two Noble Truths he talks about the problem of suffering and identifies its cause.
The third Noble Truth is realizing there is a cure.
The fourth Noble Truth, in which the Buddha explains the Eightfold Path, shows the way to end the suffering.
The Eightfold Path
A set of principles.
The Eightfold Path is also called the Middle Way: it avoids both indulgence and severe asceticism, neither of which the Buddha had found helpful in his search for enlightenment.
The symbol of the Dharma 法 is a wheel ☸️, the symbol of the Eightfold Path.
