DIY - Home Made Candles for the Festive Season

in GEMS3 years ago

It's that time of the year when I get my hands on my favorite hobby, Candle making. One activity which I enjoy thoroughly. I do not do it as a business, though a lot of people tell me that I should. But I like to make it and gift it to my friends during this time of the year. It's my way of expressing gratitude to all those who make a difference in my life.

So here is the set that have already been made and many are still to be done. I have limited molds so it takes time for me to create them and they happen in batches. I love to play with the colors and I can see how beautifully the colors have come out with different shades and mix and match combinations.

In the making.
All the candles are made in Soy wax, they are smooth in burning and do not release black flames.

The wax is getting melted. I keep different pans to add up different colors and do the mix and match part. Once the wax gets melted, the color is added.

The kit is always handy, where I keep a stock of the essential oils, different types of molds, colors, wicks. This time I wanted to only make flower candles.

The molds are set with the wicks for the wax to be poured in. I first add one color to the half of the mold and then allow it to cool, not completely hard but a little till it gets soft and then add up the second color. In that manner there is a slight merge of both the colors with each other, and gives shades even to the white part.

I enjoy using my own creation and it is such a good feeling and good vibes.

Loved them! They look so cute!! 😍😍😍
I didn't know that soy wax didn't release black flames, I had just seen that this type of wax had become somehow "popular" but didn't know why, lol.
Will give them a try, I hope I can find molds that are as beautiful as those ones!!

It's popular because people think it's Eco-friendly and the soy wax is more fragrant, but it's false. Paraffin wax is usually mixed with only 2-4% (wax weight) of fragrance, while soy wax needs as much as 10-12%. The only benefit of soy wax is that it burns cleaner (both the flame and released substances) and longer.

Thanx for the add up @aak23, Interesting to know these scientific facts.

Thank you @phendx, You can easily source the molds from Amazon

Woww. this is something unique and something that I have never seen before. You made it. it looks just awesome. thanks for sharing the process.

Such a beautiful gift idea! I bet they smell so good, handmade candles are much better in comparison with the synthetic merch you find in stores.

I feel joyful when I gift my own handmade things. So true it is much better in comparison with what you buy from stores. Thank you @creativemary

It is also about intention and the times invested in the creation of the gift. I love to receive personalized gifts, I feel more special.

You made it, look so easy to make. And they are colorful too. I’m sure they will also scent nice.

They are giving out a good fragrance

nice work. so cute

Girl you are so good at making candles!! You definitely should open up a business from your passion. I love the tutorial too. I actually have recently thought about trying to make candles as I often purchase them because it helps me feel more relaxed and forget about stress and anxiety.

Again, you definitely know what to do with your passion! Can't wait to see more from you!

Thank you @gabrieltravels, well business as of now nothing in sight as hands are already full, so this is now occasional activity for me. And you said it so right it really eases out your stress, and I feel it's a very meditative activity.

interesting post and beautiful, congratulations!
