What are some things you realize as you get older?

I have tested today and I don't have COVID.

I was tested 10 days ago and I have recovered. I learned a lot about the virus and its effects - preventive measures. So I was mentally prepared for any serious situation.

During these ten days I spoke with my father and my family in general. They never told them about it. Especially my father who would have been shocked if he had known I was infected.

I live far from them in the city. In the last 4 days even my tiffin service has stopped. I have been in control of dairy fruits and other things. Although I take care of myself. Yet being alone sometimes feels very bad.

But every night I call my dad and tell him everything is fine with me.

Sometimes it's not good at all.

Sometimes I just want to get out of town. Sometimes I was alone in the crowd. But every night I call her, ask about her health and tell her. Everything is going well for me.

I never went home because I missed home. I stay awake until late at night and simply post pictures of my family and friends I want to kiss at that moment. But I didn't make them see all this.

But when I heard that something was wrong with my father, I immediately went home. I remember taking the train without a guaranteed ticket. Cycling for hours to get home. Just to see him. And when I meet him, everything sounds fine.

What do we see as we grow older?

Loving your parents is your strength. I have a dad who sometimes gets mad at me. But hearing his voice daily is a fuel that keeps me going despite the uncertainties and difficulties in life.

I try my best not to bother her with anything, but even the slightest discomfort has caused me a lot of trouble. We don't talk for more than a minute on the phone every evening, but whenever it doesn't happen something seems to be missing in my day.

So as we grow older we realize that when we take care of our parents we only take care of ourselves. Their presence not only strengthens you but also strengthens you in your difficult times. The voice makes you believe that all is well in your little world.

And as we grow older we realize that parenting is the only place of comfort a person needs in times of adversity, as well as embracing his or her success.

So lucky are those who have their parents as well. Please take care of them. Be with them. Talk to them. They are your blessing.

Peace and love.
