Hola a toda mi querida comunidad Hive, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes algunos momentos y vivencia obtenidas en mi último viajé a la ciudad de Mérida, estado Mérida, lugar turístico por excelencia, ubicado al oeste del país, el cual forma parte de la Cordillera Andina, donde yacen los diez picos más altos del país, incluyendo el pico Bolívar que alcanza los 4978 m. ❄️🏔
Hello to all my dear Hive community, in this opportunity I want to share with you some moments and experiences obtained in my last trip to the city of Merida, Merida state, tourist place par excellence, located in the west of the country, which is part of the Andes Mountains, where lie the ten highest peaks of the country, including the Bolivar peak that reaches 4978 m. ❄️🏔
Sucedió que, planificando las vacaciones con mi hija y con mi nieta, no sabíamos que destino tomar, (ya que casi siempre nos decidíamos por el oriente del país a la isla de Margarita, estado Nueva Esparta), con el ánimo aventurero que tengo...Propuse Mérida!!!!! Ellas quedaron sorprendidas (no se lo esperaban), pues no teníamos experiencia en transitar (manejar) por esa vía, pero esa soy yo.... Aventurera
It happened that, planning the vacations with my daughter and granddaughter, we did not know which destination to take, (since we almost always decided for the east of the country to the island of Margarita, Nueva Esparta state), with the adventurous spirit that I have...I proposed Merida!!!!! They were surprised (they didn't expect it), because we had no experience in traveling (driving) that way, but that's me.... Adventurer
Así comenzó nuestro recorrido hacia Mérida!!!! Sin mayores preparativos emprendimos el viaje. Sólo conocía la vía hasta Valencia, estado Carabobo, de allí en adelante vía telefónica un amigo me fue guiando. 📞
Les voy a contar una anécdota, tenía como referencia que al llegar a Acarigua, estado Portuguesa, iba a conseguir una plaza con una escultura de un mango y allí debía cruzar a la izquierda vía al estado Barinas, el mango nunca lo encontré y nos perdimos, de nuevo en la carretera y después de muchas preguntas llegamos a Barinas. 🚗
Thus began our journey to Merida!!!!. Without further preparations we started the trip. I only knew the way to Valencia, Carabobo state, from there on a friend was guiding me by phone. 📞
I am going to tell you an anecdote, I had as a reference that when I arrived to Acarigua, Portuguesa state, I was going to get a square with a sculpture of a mango and there I had to cross to the left via Barinas state, I never found the mango and we got lost, again on the road and after many questions we arrived to Barinas.🚗
Al llegar a la ciudad de Barinas, contiuamos el recorrido hasta el pueblo de Barinitas, dónde me esperaba una amiga que vive allí. Después de muchas vueltas llegamos a Barinitas, en cuánto tiempo? Casi diez horas

Después de un fuerte y caluroso recibimiento, comenzamos a planificar nuevamente nuestro aventurero viajé hacia Mérida. Se nos unió mi amiga, y al día siguiente, vamos pues..... Tomamos la vía más difícil pero más hermosa, El Páramo. Así llegamos a Santo Domingo, el primer pueblo del estado Mérida en esta vía.
After a strong and warm welcome, we started planning again our adventurous trip to Merida. We were joined by my friend, and the next day, we went to ...... We took the most difficult but most beautiful road, El Paramo. Thus we reached Santo Domingo, the first town in the state of Merida on this road.
Indescriptible los hermosos paisajes y el clima, comenzamos a subir, la vía es muy estrecha y consta de muchas curvas, lo que nos hizo hacer una parada ante los mareos de mí nieta. 😵
Indescribable beautiful scenery and weather, we started to climb, the road is very narrow and consists of many curves, which made us make a stop before the dizziness of my granddaughter. 😵
Seguimos, y los paisajes cada vez mas hermosos, montañas llenas de unas plantas típicas de la región llamada frailejón. Los frailejones se dan sólo en Venezuela, Colombia, y el norte de Ecuador. En los Andes venezolanos existen más de 60 especies de frailejones, y la especie más común es la Espeletia schultzii, conocida como frailejón de Octubre, ya que es a partir de ese mes cuando pinta el páramo de Mucubají con millones de flores amarillas. Nuestro viaje fue en agosto, por lo que no pudimos apreciar sus flores. 💐
We continue, and the landscapes become more and more beautiful, mountains full of typical plants of the region called frailejon. Frailejones occur only in Venezuela, Colombia, and northern Ecuador. In the Venezuelan Andes there are more than 60 species of frailejones, and the most common species is Espeletia schultzii, known as frailejón de Octubre, since it is in that month when it paints the Mucubají páramo with millions of yellow flowers. Our trip was in August, so we could not appreciate its flowers. 💐
Finalmente, llegamos al Pico El Águila, con una temperatura que oscila entre -1°C hasta 6°C. 🤗

Luego de disfrutar del paisaje, beber chocolate caliente, comprar queso ahumado, característico de la zona, y mantequilla de frailejón, continuamos nuestro destino a la ciudad de Mérida. Luego de tres horas de camino lo logramos. 🏆
After enjoying the scenery, drinking hot chocolate, buying smoked cheese, characteristic of the area, and frailejón butter, we continued on to the city of Mérida. After three hours on the road we made it. 🏆
Llegamos al hotel, almorzamos, descansamos, y al día siguiente, allá vamos!... Es hora de continuar conociendo Mérida. Se podría decir que, han sido unas de nuestras mejores vacaciones, en sólo cinco días visitamos los centros turísticos más conocidos de la ciudad, como son: El Parque Los Chorros de Milla, con su diversidad de animales y cascadas.
We arrive at the hotel, have lunch, rest, and the next day, here we go!.... It's time to continue getting to know Merida. We could say that this has been one of our best vacations, in only five days we visited the most famous tourist centers of the city, such as: Los Chorros de Milla Park, with its diversity of animals and waterfalls.

Rockola de la época, es un equipo donde insertabas una moneda, seleccionabas la canción y reproducía la música.

Por otra parte, el mercado municipal de la ciudad ofrece múltiples artículos, como los guantes y gorros de invierno tejidos, variedad de alimentos, dulces de leche abrillantados, bebidas artesanales como el miche, los ponches, vinos y licores, que son delicias que no podemos dejar de probar. No podía faltar el disfrutar los ricos helados de la Heladería Coromoto, la cual brinda más de ochocientos sesenta sabores diferentes, los más populares son : helado de hotdog, helado de maíz dulce, de frijoles, de champiñones al vino, de aguacate, de cerveza, de trucha fresca, de jamón ibérico, e incluso de espagueti con queso. El de aguacate es uno de los sabores más solicitados. 🍦
On the other hand, the city's municipal market offers multiple items, such as knitted winter gloves and hats, a variety of food, polished milk sweets, handmade drinks such as miche, punches, wines and liquors, which are delicacies that we can not miss. We could not miss enjoying the delicious ice cream of the Coromoto Ice Cream Parlor, which offers more than eight hundred and sixty different flavors, the most popular are: hotdog ice cream, sweet corn ice cream, beans, mushrooms in wine, avocado, beer, fresh trout, Iberian ham, and even spaghetti with cheese. Avocado is one of the most popular flavors. 🍦

Así seguimos durante el transcurso de los días, pasamos por la Laguna de Mucuchies, y finalmente, nuestras últimas paradas antes de retornar a Barinitas fueron el Monumento a la Loca Luz Caraballo y la Laguna de Mucubají
We continued in this way during the course of the days, passing by the Mucuchies Lagoon, and finally, our last stop before returning to Barinitas was the Monumento to the Loca Luz Caraballo and La Laguna de Mucubaji
En este último sitio, la laguna, pescamos nuestro almuerzo, Truchas! Y con la barriga contenta concluimos nuestro viaje a este mágico estado, con muchísimas ganas de volver y recomendando a todos que lo visiten para que vivan esta experiencia única. 🎣
In this last place, the lagoon, we caught our lunch, trout! And with a happy belly we concluded our trip to this magical state, looking forward to returning and recommending everyone to visit it to live this unique experience. 🎣
