RE: Wacky Front Porch Art Here in Los Angeles

in GEMS2 years ago

That's not really how curation works, you post something once and that post 2 years ago may have gotten you more than just the rewards, not counting what they'd be now having remained staked, etc. You get the chance to followers, interactions, possible autovotes, tips, etc from posts, reposting not only has the chance to get the same voters to vote on duplicate content but also opens up a gray area to what people think they can get away with if we only removed x $ of rewards compared to the last one, etc. It's best to just not accept rewards if you want to cross-post things for the visibility/attention/etc so it's a universal rule rather than depending on each case.

Usually we would've warned you first but an account of your age and reputation should be aware by now.

It's ok, I shouldn't have asked you to rationalize it. I was just upset at the time, as is human. You, of course have the prerogative to use your stake in whatever way that you wish.

Usually we would've warned you first but an account of your age and reputation should be aware by now.

I would like to add though, that there is no consensus that reposts are unacceptable. I've seen plenty of reposts over the years from large stakeholders. If you don't like it, you have the power to remove those rewards which you have done - and are rightfully able to do.

Since I now know that I cannot repost without having you remove the rewards, I am aware that it isn't worth wasting my time doing so. So really the intended result is achieved.

There's some value that can be had in reposts with declined/forfeited rewards, I don't deny that. There'd be even more said value and less time wasted if we had front-ends that generated adrevenue they'd share with authors/consumers. It's just not something we should accept for the way hive rewards work to be allowed.

If you find other reposts feel free to alert us in our discord and we'll look into it. I don't think people accept reposts to be rewarded in general, could be they just didn't read your post (the bigger voters) or that last part, when I first checked it out I thought that part had been edited in but didn't make much sense for me to check if you had edited it in after posting/the big voters had cast their votes cause it wouldn't have changed much.
