Super Sepia Saturday

Well hello Hivers! It is a super Sepia Saturday which is an opportunity to get some perfectly fine photos out and just beat the devil out of them! I like to see if I can take a modern photo and try to use all of our modern digital tricks at our disposal to make it look rather old-timey!

I usually play with adding some grain, more or less. In the above I added a heap of grain just for the example. Generally I toss in a bit of vignetting too. If you ever look at actual old time photos the hue of the coloring is interesting. Sometimes more yellowy, sometimes more muted.

I kind of thought it would be fun this week to toss in the original photos. Of course there is no right or wrong way to do this. That is the artistic aspect...do it how you want to see it. Like old Bob Ross used to say those are the big decisions that the artist has to make coz it is your own world.

Sometimes it is fun to throw the whole kitchen sink at it lol!

That is the lazy man way of not having to photoshop the note on the car window :D

I have a new appreciation for the sepia. Truly. I say that every week, but, it is true. I mostly like what others do with sepia. Most of the ones that I do feel wrong or feel like they look better in color.

Anyway, I like what you have done here and I can see that it can do a great job at covering up.

Happy Sepia Saturday!

Well I would say they do look better in color. I just find it to be a fun challenge. Perhaps like making something shabby chic lol.

Such an oxymoron. There is nothing chic about shabby. But that means a whole different thing now, doesnt it?

Hello friend @old-guy-photos, the photos were spectacular with those digitalization tricks they seem from those times in which I would have liked to have existed, I think it was a cleaner world without so much contamination, thanks for recreating my mind and making me fly to previous eras. I congratulate him.

Thank you for the kind words. I too have thought the same way. Maybe that is why I always enjoyed watching the Waltons when I was young.
