Before starting with my entry to the contest I want to thank @nelyp and @johan.norberg for giving us the opportunity to participate in a new edition of Behind The Photo where we not only have the possibility to share beautiful photos but also be able to tell you what it entails Behind these photos.
I also want to give a special thanks to @appreciator for supporting this wonderful contest which gives him an extra incentive.
Here I share with you the original publication of the meeting so that you can see the bases and make your presentation correctly:
Behind The Photo contest - Edition #9
Henry, my faithful friend
When the houses were handed over to us, the neighborhood was full of abandoned dogs due to the irresponsibility and lack of heart of a large number of residents of my city, who adopt dogs and, not being what they expected, abandon them in this part of the city.
A few days after we settle in our house, a totally malnourished dog appears at the door of my house, with scabies on its foot and full of fleas and ticks.
As a good active protectionist of animal life, we did not hesitate with my wife to start feeding, deworming and treating her skin conditions. I have recovered and put up for adoption many and street dogs that were in danger of dying and a friendly veterinarian helped me guiding me with the treatment that we should continue with Henry, just as my daughter baptized this beautiful dog and in a matter of 6 weeks we were able to get it back your skin conditions.
With a good diet, a lot of care and a lot of love we were able to twist the fate of this furry 4-legged man.
On several occasions we tried to enter him at home and add him to our family, but we were not successful, because although it shows that at some point he had a home because of how polite he is, he is used to being on the street.
This is how we understood that if we kept insisting on going home. far from doing him a favor we would be doing him something he is not prepared for.
When the days are presented with extreme temperatures, when it rains or there is a storm, he only scratches the door for us to let him in and perches on a rag that we have for him and we place it next to the heater.
Henry is an extremely grateful being and he shows it daily with whom he gives him only a caress.
He is very good with the boys and very protective of my two bitches whom he takes care of every time we go for a walk.
Although we could not get him to adapt to a life at home, we accept him as he is and he knows that he has the doors of our house open for when he has it.
I have rarely seen so much gratitude in a living being. They expect nothing more than a caress and a plate of food, and in return they give us their unconditional love and fidelity.
This was the story behind these photos taken in December 2018.
This does nothing more than affirm a phrase that you ever hear and that is very true ....: "The more I know humans, the more I love animals" ...
