Easter Orthodox Sunday and my daughter in law popped in with some groceries. I'm so blessed to have all my children being so caring and looking after me at this time.
It was lovely to see Les so relaxed and enjoy a quick drink with her and chat.
There were a lot of police on the roads apparently and they were fining people who were out without permission. It would seem like 79 people were fined.
Also reported in the Cyprus News is that there were 61 fires across the country, 17 of these in Limassol. I live quite near the Fire Station so I could hear the sirens through the night and was also surprised that some people were setting off fireworks but strangely no report of that in the news.
A pre- lockdown pic of Les and me
This was after a breakfast at a lovely coffee shop called "Estrella"
Of all the things I miss the most during this lockdown are the outings for breakfast - one of my favourite things to do.
Finally today is Easter Monday and no visitors today.
Decided I would cook today and be able to send some food to Les for a change. She is working on a deadline and although tomorrow is also a holiday in Cyprus (a bank holiday) she will be working.
The weather has been great and Jack and Les have been enjoying their barbecue and Lee and Katia as well. Also something I miss and yesterday someone had a fire going and I could smell the meat cooking. All the things we take for granted and now just memories for the time being. As soon as this lockdown is lifted I will be joining the kids for a barbecue.
What else do I really miss in this lockdown time. Of course my beautiful daughter, who just celebrated her 28th birthday last week.
There's a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow
Taken on Jack's balcony before she left for South Africa.
And of course what wouldn't I do for a lovely cocktail on the beach.
On this special day when "Christ has risen" - once again a very Happy Easter to all my Greek friends and others sharing this holiday. I pray that the reset button will bring many surprises to us all.
