I just love the sight of nature and its tranquility so I decided to pay a visit to a remote village in Itu, where I know I would find some local pleasant things to behold.
I came across a palm kennel factory and a small fish pond where I stopped by and took some photographs.
Here is also a heaped bark of palm kennel which is also used as a shaft to set fire.
The palm kennel factory is always very noisy and heated. Sometimes ago I visited a community which had a palm kernel oil factory and during production, the entire place was seriously filled with the scent of the kernel oil every where, it has a strong scent though which is also believed to scare bad spirits away😂. I don't even know if I should call that a superstitious belief.
The oil obtained from this dried Palm kennel is known as 'mmayanga' in my locality. I learnt from a dealer that the palm kernel oil is usually exported to companies, where it is refined and manufactured into body creams, soap, hair cream and so on. It is also believed by some people in this locality that it can be used as a sort of protection for babies, when rubbed all over their body and could cure severe coughs too.
I know I drank palm kernel oil when I was a child but can't remember why I drank it. It has this bitter oily taste and is black in color, I just wished I saw a glimpse of the kernel oil, I would have shown you what it looks like.
So, I did not meet any work at the palm kennel factory yesterday, as I was told by a woman who lives close to the kernel factory, but refused to be on camera that they only worked from Monday to Saturday. So I managed to take a few photographs of what the factory looked like.
Back to the fish pond,
Zik, the owner of the fish pond, informed me that the fish farming is a very lucrative one. I also learnt that they produce fish seedlings in the farm and customers buy the seedlings from them and raise those seedlings into big fish for commercial and consumption purposes.
The smaller fishes were being covered from any form of sunray or heat in order to preserve them.
Zik also complained that most times if proper care is not taken during the course of producing and preserving fish seedlings, they experienced losses which they are also trying to avoid this time.
Here are also photographs of the small fishes in the pond. Zik also tried to get the attention of a bigger fish in their respective ponds, but I think they were scared of showing up.
I also took photographs of some of the beautiful bushes around and like I said earlier I love nature and everything about nature.
Thank you for stopping by to read😊.
Pure beauty of nature 😍
Thank you 😊
The fish are still small. I thought they should have been so big by now. It's cute though, he's really trying.
He has some big ones breeded separately, it's just that even when he tried making them show themselves, they refused to come out.
Thanks for stopping by to read 😊
