Thank you for making me laugh today with this post! Hopefully, when I get to visit Cape Town again, I'll be able to meet a 74-inch Dick!
It's great to see that despite everything negative around South Africa's power situation that there are at least some people working towards finding sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions. I honestly believe that SA has a huge opportunity in that regard, and can become an international example of switching to renewable energy. Sadly though, there are many obstacles, including our political situations.
Yes, your daughter is cute, that smile is something else. Your kitties are cute too! I've never surfed in my life, only body-boarding a little. And yikes, I am glad to see you are at least wearing a wet suit in that cold west coast water!
I have some martial arts in my history as well, and it was very interesting to read about your journey. Crime is sadly a part of this country, and it was one of the reasons I started learning self-defense techniques. Being situationally aware is probably one of the biggest aspects.
Looking forward to seeing some of your music posts!
Wow, howsit buddy!!! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story with us all. I can say that I admire your work/career as it's definitely what we need here in the beautiful mother city. I am a fan and would love to get involved with companies such like the one you work for. Surfs up dude, shweet pic and wave 🌊 caught moment there.
It's been a pleasure reading your intro, I will be sure to make time for mine soonest.
Have a great day 🌱
Thank you! I look forward to reading your intro!
The City of Cape Town is looking into buying renewable energy independently of Eskom. I believe their first request for proposals involves trying to use land close enough to the city such that they don't have to use the Eskom network at all (the city owns some of the network in Cape Town), which will probably mean small solar plants at first.
Perhaps later they will also buy from larger renewable energy facilities further away and then pay Eskom a small fee (wheeling tariff) to get the energy to Cape Town. Let's watch this space!
Epic!!! Most definitely watching this space thanks so much 🙏🏼
I'm making a career shift currently and I plan my intro as soon as I'm landed and settling BUT I'm certain there's potential HUGE BUSINESS at hand that we can work together... Take care of yourself and stay safe ✌🏼🤙🏼

Thank you! I look forward to seeing your Introductory Post soon as I see you are also new here?
Renewable Energy - plenty of challenges: the best solar resource is in the Northern Cape, but new powerlines will need to be built. Some of the best windy area are close to large eagles or vultures that need to be suitably avoided to prevent collisions. Also, there are people who choose to object to wind farms being built close to their land.
Bodyboarding is a legitimate way to ride waves, and sometimes is the best option! I usually throw my bodyboard in the car when I go surfing just in case!
Music - going to chat to @zakludick and @clairemobey about the best way to share videos on here! Probably just a youtube link?
Yes, Jasper, I am new to Ecency ☺️ I am your classmate as @zakludick is showing me the ropes. I hope to post an Introductory Post soon enough. Hopefully followed by some art 😉
Yep! There is another platform called 3speak. You can also post videos on that channel and they will automatically appear on your profile here. All your hive profiles are linked 🤓. Otherwise, to post from youtube is super easy. Just create a new post here on Ecency and copy and paste the youtube link as it is into the body of the post and: TADA! Your Youtube video will be playable from within the post. Viewers can also opt to watch the video on YouTube itself, but it isn't necessary. Give us a shoutout any time if you get stuck. Welcome @JasperDick!
I love the interaction @jasperdick, @pixelhuntersam and @clairemobey! This is good content to share with each other and a wonderful community vibe we are building!
This is where the magic happens!
